Mask of Fear, Deputy Matt Housam, COPS TV SHOW – Everything Law and Order Blog

Deputy Housam of the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office spots a male pedestrian who is in a full face mask. The deputy pulls over and makes contact with the man, who informs Deputy Housam that he was protecting his face from dust. The man freely offers his ID card to Deputy Housam, who after running the card, learns that the man has a warrant. When the deputy attempts to place the subject in cuffs, the man tries to flee. A struggle ensues, and the man manages to hit Deputy Housam, who promptly takes the man to the ground. The deputy doesn’t take any chances with the erratic man, and keeps him pinned to the ground while he waits for backup and catches his breath. The man won’t stop talking, and insists that he was merely acting out of fear. When backup arrives, the man is placed in cuffs and put into the back of a patrol car. The man apologizes, but that doesn’t excuse the warrant for his arrest or his act of striking a law enforcement officer. Deputy Housam says that he appreciates the apology, and he patiently explains to the man that he has to go to jail anyway.

  1. Housam is the jackass who wrote me a ticket for “improper use of horn”. I hurt his ego when I called him out for flying by me every morning on his way to work. It’s “Laws for thee and not for me” when it comes to bad cops like him.

  2. So did he get charged? Cause that would be the coolest cop ever if he didnt get charged with assaulting a police officer for that little baby punch on the shoulder. Imagine the cops just being like "oh bro you didnt even hit me that hard youre good we just need to take care of this warrant, no need to get you in a bunch more trouble over being scared of jail."
