The criminal case against Mondrian-Powell was dismissed with prejudice in late-June 2018, after a series of prosecutorial delays led to a violation of the accused’s right to a speedy trial as guaranteed by the Sixth Amendment.
Mondrian-Powell, 59, was facing a second-degree murder charge and other counts for allegedly shooting Elvira Segura in the neck in the fall of 2016 at Segura’s home in Nambé, New Mexico. He had been in jail for 20 months awaiting trial.
Stories about the case all cite police sources as stating that Mondrian-Powell had confessed to shooting the 67-year-old woman. This video shows Mondrian-Powell’s actual confession, the core of which begins at ~40:00 and ends at ~44:30.

My brain: should I………..feel BAD for a murderer?
That woman sounded like a goddamned walking nightmare.
That was so very sad.
Why didn't they read his Miranda rights first?
Is he wearing convict pants? Perhaps he’s preparing for his future prison attire. “Let me tell you all about this lady I killed.â€
I want to congratulate the guy for conducting his first interrogation. This was painful
I feel like he was abused by her emotionally.
Bet both detectives haven’t blinked in 15 min.
How the hell?? That detective in the corner was literally frozen lol
I hope he's living abuse free in public housing now.
Is there any proof that the lady was actually abusive to the killer? Or did they just take his word for it that he was the victim.
Most important part of being a detective is pretending not to hear the word lawyer
wait, did he just mentioned talking with a lawyer 53 minutes after talking?
He got out of it and charges were dropped but then he died of hypothermia at a homeless camp.
So sad…
Rough situation. Homeless or live with this crazy violent bipolar woman. He should have just left but sounds like he was pushed to the brink.
This guy had to listen to a bunch of bullshit
I feel like this guy got a therapy session with some jail time as payment.
I remember this! It happened in my state.
Wait, they didn't read him his rights BEFORE he started talking?!? They waited till the end?! Wow….
Neither party moves very much and I had to check several times to make sure YT didn't freeze. This may not be popular but is this a case of him being an abused (verbally)/battered victim since it went on so long?
Rights after talking to him, oh yes it’s America!
If you have any questions period, just sit and listen to this guy. Eventually he'll cover the answer to your question.
This clown's rambling will drive you nuts! Yikes 😬
