In 2017 I bought the same truck. 2004 4X4 with the 5.7L Hemi with a lift kit. It's been a great truck. It only had 100,000 miles on it. I've put another 20K on it.

Reliable engine if maintained and not beat on but it’s kinda hard to not beat on it because it’s such a fun engine. The motors a guzzler which is pain if it’s drove for many hours a day. They rust from winters… typical old dodges. Other than that really nice trucks

As long as you treat it well it’ll keep going. My 2003 5.7 hemi… 204k still solid and gives no fucks
The ac problem is because of a bend door that has fallen, remove the blower motor thats underneth the seat and you can reach up and just pull it out you dont need to rip it or cut anything have a 04 dodge ram service manual if you want it

Just bought me an 04 1500 slt, 96k miles. It'll be the first truck I've ever had. Got some things to change and upgrade. But all around I'm happy with it
I have a 04 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 hemi and I bought my truck for $3500 it has 111000 miles and just some rust on the back fenders every thing works other then the Emergency brake and I had to change the wheel barring other then that it’s completely fine and I like the paint job if you want you can come to my channel and see it for your self
