It’s not every day that you see a cruiser motorcycle being chased through the woods by a police cruiser.

Although not seen in this video, the operator of the motorcycle was found and taken into custody. And this is where the description gets strange.

Ohio State Highway Patrol directly provided the footage you see in this video, but they have been extraordinarily slow to produce further [relevant] information about its contents.

What follows is everything that I know and can tell you now:

An adult male was arrested, tried, and convicted [for something].

His sentence was 180 days in jail, but 146 of those days were suspended. The remaining 34 days were nominally jail time, but the judge provided an alternative, exercisable at the discretion of probation: he could serve four days in jail over two weekends, followed by 30 days of electronically monitored house arrest and 9 months of probation, during which he was not permitted to operate a motorcycle after dark.

That’s all I’ve got. And believe me, it’s not for want of trying.

Despite OSHP’s foot-dragging, I am confident that in due time I will be able to provide much more detail on this pursuit. When that happens I will (a) update this description, and (b) include a note to that effect in the next video I publish, so you don’t have to check back here.

Until then.

UPDATED 02/20/19

For the past week-plus I have been working to uncover more information about this pursuit. My work finally paid off.

This pursuit took place on July 4, 2018 and the rider of the motorcycle was Robin Buckels, male, age 46, from Painesville, Ohio.

(Fun fact about Robin: On 6/2/16 he won $10,070 on a Keno scratch off.)

Buckels was charged with failure to comply, ‘permitted operation without a license’, operating a motorcycle without a helmet, and unsafe operation. All except for failure to comply were dismissed. Same sentence as I had previously reported, plus $592 in fines and a temporary license suspension.

Over and out.

  1. Love how the cop while casing a motorcycle of all things has to come to almost a complete stop to let him finish getting around the turn. This guy isn't out running anyone. He's in the cops way from going fast.

  2. Not used to using brakes on his Hog, Billy kept runnin until all the grease burned off the brake drums and headed for the swamps.

  3. He thought he could outrun the law on the back of a mere Harley?? lol. You need a Ducati Monster if you want to run with the big dogs.

  4. As the harley guys always say "get a realll bike" maybe if he had a real bike he wouldnt have had to flee his ride and gotten away on the road🤣

  5. Troopers are a**holes. This story is trash literally their facts are off. Left out the part where they interrogated the children who lived there and made them stand outside for no reason, yelling and screaming at them. Completely disrespectful. But everyone should know by now police only say their story and leave out the part where they mistreat citizens.

  6. Homeboy almost biffed into multiple stop signs, fire hydrants, and telephone poles throughout the course of this chase…I mean, he OBVIOUSLY knows how to handle his heavy ass bike, but I couldn't imagine throwing that thing around the way that he did. If he had a crotch rocket it would've been over in the first couple of blocks.

  7. I think he couldda got away completely had he had a better choice of ride. If I were one of the Cops I would have thought long and hard about setting the grass on fire around the brakes of that bike and just let it burn! Oops!

Probably took to the dirt because he didn't have any brakes left. Gotta give it to him. He never put the paint on the pavement.

  8. Everyone saying they are slow are dummy’s I’ve had both and both are fast obviously never been on a 117 road glide done up they move and no I don’t only like harleys I like em all

  9. Wrong bike. Pick you you up a liter bike and it's all over in seconds. Now the responsible adult side of me will tell you to just pull over. It is not a good idea to run from the police. A ticket is just that a ticket. Risking your life to get away is not worth it.

  10. Police in general should just let motorcycles that start fleeing get away. Do investigations later. Not worth the risk to the rider or himself or others.

  11. I keep thinking I need a landspeeder from Star Wars so I can go in the woods and dodge trees while the cops just blow up like the imperial army they are

  12. This is silly. The policy of his speed pursuit is putting the biker and the officer's lives at risk. And for what, speeding or some other traffic infraction. Let the guy go if he chooses to run.
