A man has been arrested on felony child abuse charges after police say he left his 2-month-old in a hot car while he was at a southeast Albuquerque plasma center. Isaac Chacon, 32, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the county jail. Officers were called to reports of a baby who was left in a car in a parking lot at 204 San Mateo SE, near Central and San Mateo, around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived, two women had opened the car doors and officers could see a 2-month-old sitting in a car seat in the back seat.
“(The baby) was crying loudly and had white build up on the sides of his mouth,†an officer wrote in the police report on the incident. It was 76 degrees outside at the time, according to the report. When paramedics arrived, they found the baby’s temperature was 101.7 and he appeared dehydrated. They took him to the hospital. The child’s father, Chacon, walked out of a nearby plasma center after the ambulance arrived and told officers he had been “in and out real quick,†according to the report. But a plasma center employee said Chacon went in at 12:15 p.m., leaving the baby in the car for an hour and a half. Chacon told officers one of his friends had been looking after the baby in the car for some of that time, but had left about 15 minutes before police arrived. Police charged him with felony child abuse without great bodily harm. The baby was put into his mom’s care.

ive sat in a car with the windows up in the middle of summer… and i only lasted 21mins and 12seconds.
And i was to the point where i started to lose my sense of spacial perspective and control of my motor skills.
it was absolute torture. i couldnt imagine being strapped down in a wool car seat to boot.
