White Settlement, Texas — An alert citizen’s quick actions saved an elderly woman from a costly scam at a local gas station. Myndi Jordan, 38, intervened when she noticed the elderly woman depositing thousands of dollars into a Bitcoin ATM at a Chevron station. The woman was on the phone with an alleged Chase Bank representative, who turned out to be a scammer, according to White Settlement police. “I have the bank on the phone. I’m in danger,” the elderly woman told White Settlement Police Sgt. James Stewart.

Sgt. Stewart had responded to a 911 call from Jordan, who had previously been a victim of identity theft and was concerned upon witnessing the large deposit. By the time Sgt. Stewart arrived, the woman had already deposited $23,900. In the police body camera footage, the officer approaches the elderly woman, who was on Facetime with a man pretending to be a member of Chase Bank’s security team. The officer intervened, asking to speak to the woman and urging her to stop depositing money into the ATM. The woman handed over her phone, and the man on the other end repeatedly demanded to speak to her, but Sgt. Stewart did not comply.

Investigations revealed that the scammer had orchestrated a ride-share service to transport the elderly woman to a local Chase Bank, where she withdrew $40,000 in cash. Another ride was then arranged to take her to the gas station to deposit the money into the Bitcoin ATM. White Settlement Police Department (WSPD) is now collaborating with the Bitcoin law enforcement liaison and the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office to recover the woman’s money. The department announced that it plans to honor the good Samaritan, Myndi Jordan, in a City Council meeting for her vigilance and quick action.

  2. anyone know if the 23k was processed? Did she end up loosing any money or did that last "im done' prompt save her.

  3. I'm so glad that hell is real. Just gotta keep my ass out of there, and I don't even need to see these effers getting dragged in. Justice will be completed eventually!

  4. Wow! Compelling footage! I love that the officer confronted that pos scammer! But man, are they’re so damn stubborn! They just will not back down and they don’t shut up! That’s how they wear down and brainwash their victims.
That Good Samaritan was truly a godsend for that poor lady. I hope they helped look out for her to protect her from future scammers. Maybe by contacting her family.
This was also a good lesson for us to pay close attention to the goings on with vulnerable people. Sometimes they’ll need help, even when they don’t recognize they may need help.
    That’s fantastic they’ll be honoring the Good Samaritan. Very well-deserved. She’s a hero. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  5. how do these banks let them spend so much? if I spend over 400 dollars, I get a phone call from the bank. its the only time a girl ever calls me.

  6. Left on a cliffhanger. Cop shouldn’t have argued. He should’ve played along while stopping the woman from continuing. I know it’s protocol for him to announce who he is especially for his body cam.

  7. My friend happened to stop by his mothers for lunch one day, he just felt he needed to see her, it wasn't a regular thing. She was getting in her car to go send the IRS $6000. Through Western Union. She was so upset, she forgot to pay a tax bill and they were coming to arrest her. WE LIVE IN CANADA!!!! Protect your elderly parents. They had her convinced she was a stupid old forgetful lady.

  8. I don’t understand this I mean my TD credit card the flag something for $200 what kind of bank is it in the end? What kind of set up is this never deal with these people they call you on the phone for all that crap don’t drop dead.

  9. She better gave gotten all that money back! So irritating the scammer kept talking over the cop. I can't stand someone talking over me. You WILL NOT control the narrative!

  10. If this video disgusted you or if you've been a victim of scams, I suggest you go watch Kitboga. He absolutely destroys these scammers and you will surely feel vindicated.

  11. Kudos to Myndi Jordan. The scam would go unnoticed to most people because they get immersed in their smartphones. It's still unclear to me whether the $40K were recovered or whether the $23K were part of that total. It would also be interesting to watch what else the police officer told the victim after being done with the scammer.

  12. With that accent the scammer had, if he didn't ask about your cars warranty within the first few minutes, you gotta know its a scam🤣🤣

  13. Yeah we watch these scammers' time being wasted by scambaiters every day. Educate your parents and grand parents. I live in Germany and got a call from a German number and was told that it's Interpol. The woman had an indian accent and couldn't speak a word of German. I called her out on that and she hung up. They spoof numbers (copy an American number).

  14. The nerve of these Indian scammers is crazy. If someone ever calls you and it's a situation involving money and they sound like that… it's a scam. He is so bold bc he isn't even in America so he knows they can't touch him. Our federal goverment should do something about this crap instead of all the other BS they waste time and tax money doing. We should cut off any and all aid and trade to India until they deal with these people properly.
