“There was just a young lady that was walking on the highway that tried to get on the bus. She is really drunk and she’s just right over there.”

Today’s installment takes us right back to Pullman, Washington, this past weekend. Whereas yesterday we enjoyed Officer Emerson’s perspective, this time around we are tagging along with Officer Reuben Harris. Watch as he learns that a drunk woman who had been walking along the highway had just tried to board a broken-down UCLA bus… and is now wandering around in the street.

Officer Harris quickly contacts the young woman, finding her cooperative, friendly, and yes: apparently quite drunk. After a few attempts at figuring out where she is trying to go and what’s going on, the young woman is placed under arrest, technically for minor intoxication in public but also to protect her from herself. Because she certainly can’t handle that task right now.

Another Saturday night in a college town.

    Miscellany:

-The right to free speech does not give you the right to be heard on this YouTube channel.

-This is enforcement of the Community Guidelines we all agreed to when we created our accounts. It’s not big news.

-Buster, stop threatening to have “your family’s lawyer” sue me. Attorneys know how to write their own demand letters. They don’t communicate through the aggrieved's significant other.

  2. It’s good that the police do this. The girl could have turned into another Dateline story wandering around like that.

  3. The wrong person could have picked her up and it could have gone terrible good thing those people on the bus spoke up and she was safe.

  4. Sorry but in America we start and end most sentences with "sorry". Don't ask what we're Sorry about, it's complicated, but helps cover our ass just in case.

  5. Love The Ploice when they are soo nice and polite and also the young lady very polite ! 😀 I really enjoyed the video .

  6. If he asks her why she was wandering around or going the way she was going one more time… dude, have you never been drunk? LMAO. SHE DOESN’T HAVE A CLUE WHY SHE WENT WHERE SHE DID!

  7. Being British being Arrested for having had a drink is a joke Brits Ausys and Germens French Spanish Dutch you name it get drunk in public and its no big deal

  8. oh com on , police in my country would just take her home with a warning… Not put her in jail?? Wtf

  9. Minor toxication on the street, not driving, not do anything to anyone, while u are at age 21, and u are all time been nice to oficer, and answers all questions, and u may have CRIMINAL record? WTF :S.

  10. This was the most unnecessary arrest. This girl is not a criminal but now has a record. I want my tax dollars back for this one.

  11. Where I live we can legally drink from the age 16. You have to be 18 to be served in bars though, but in stores we can buy alcohol.
If she was in my country he would have driven her home or taken her to the station and have her parents pick her up. No charges, no arrest, and no consequence to her parents.
-Because police are here to protect and serve and not criminalize us when we need help and are not hurting others…

  12. Is public intoxication a criminal charge in Washington State? He mentions the prosecutor, and her criminal record – but isn't she just in police custody? Or is he charging her with like, a moving violation?

  13. I'm not a lawyer so someone please correct me on this. Is it technically legal for the officer to make this arrest without administering a breathalyzer test?

  14. Check all the desperate dudes in the comment section "She is so polite & he should have just helped her!" She isn't only polite, LOL some people from California are just airheads. She probably thought he was checking her into a hotel the whole time.

  15. imagine being able to drive at 16, own a rifle at 18 but getting drunk results in going to jail, cause you aren't 21 xD America

  16. i remember when i was 18 and my gf was drunk and tried to get out of the car and run away, luckily i had a buddy with me and i had him hold her in the back seat until we got home

  17. Oh plz at least she's not fucking driving no need to waste ur damn time on a girl who was partying get over urself

  18. Only reason I could see her getting arrested is her drinking underage but besides that she was not disturbing the peace.
