On January 23, 2019 Jake Harris of the television show “Deadliest Catch” was arrested on a laundry list of felony charges in Skagit County, Washington, following a slow-speed pursuit by a park ranger, sheriff’s deputies, and the Washington State Patrol. Harris was driving a yellow 1968 Cortez motorhome. He was accompanied by his dog, an extensive collection of stolen firearms, roughly half an ounce of heroin, and no driver’s license. (His girlfriend would later take the dog.)
Harris is currently incarcerated at the Skagit County Jail on charges of felony DUI, driving without a license, eluding, possession of heroin with intent to sell (with firearm enhancement), maintaining a dwelling for drug trafficking, and possession of stolen firearms. He is being held on a $200,000 bond.
You probably won’t see him doing much fishing any time soon…

His dad enabled him. His brother enabled him. After reading that notebook,, it seems Josh is still enableding him.. I am flying to Australia now & had 12 more hrs to kill, so I watched this…
He isn't going to quit drugs unless he wants to. There is only so many xs you can relapse before you say..I never want to wake up & feel that way.
No one can make a human stop, they have to plan their own End Game.
Inherently the cops were VERY NICE to him. He was acting like a spoiled Junkie. If he was in Chicago where I grew up or NY/CA which I live now, they couldn't have aired this.
He acts like everyone owes him smtn.
I hope when he finally decides to get clean, he will feel embarrassed & realize how he treated his family.
Soon as he gets out of jail, if he doesn't seek help, he will go back to using. You don't see many 60 y/o heroin addicts.
Josh needs to step away from him & let him get clean.
He should not let him on the boat til he is off heroin!!!
If he is on suboxone or Methadone he needs to be off that for @ least 2 years. He has to stop using personal tragedies as a scapegoat.
When I see (with firearm enhancement) I always picture a weapon tricked out with heroin.
If I wanted to read a slide show I would not be on a VIDEO site like YOUTUBE WHERE VIDEOS ARE LOCATED TO BE WATCHED NOT TO BE READ MAYBE PUT IT IN A BOOK NEXT TIME JUST A THOUGHT
As much as I miss him, I'm glad Phil isn't here to see the downfall of Jake. It broke Phil's heart when he caught Jake stealing his pain meds and Jake confessing that he is an addict….. He would've been devastated to see how much worse it's gotten.

Well first of all to those of you who wrote stuff about him stealing the guns. Youre so quick to judge cuz you are all so perfect. You just got to be better than the other person dont ya? YOU STUPID ASS HOLES He did not steal the guns. He received them and was charged accordingly. If you would have read the reports you would know this. I just wish I was as good as all you key board preachers are. Boy my life would be a piece of cake. The funny thing is normally when you look a little deeper into the lives of those who pass judgement and more or less criticize and judge the person in question it becomes so hypocritical when the layers of your behavior are exposed. I just hope one day I can become just half the person you all are . I hope that you feel better about your selves for ripping right through him and making real clear to others how you feel about him . Props to all of you . I know I certainly feel better thanx.

Hey RWP, do you know when or if the bodycam of the park ranger or the other police officers involved will be released? I used to be big fan of the show when Jake played in it, really wanna see his downfall.
Poor Phil must be rolling in his grave. I hope Jake gets it together eventually.
Pretty sad to see him involved with shit like Heroin now. I hope one day he do something to drastically change his life, but hey we all choose or own paths. I just hope he stay safe and don't end up overdosing out here one of these days.
I just checked Jake in google to see how he was doing and got this. I watched every season of Deadliest Catch and really loved watching his dad Phil Harris who reminded me of my own Dad who passed. See the story play out on tv of Phil and the Stroke and then passing was tough. But seeing Josh and Jake get to work with their dad before he passed was great. Then the episode where Jake admitted to Phil he had an addiction was heartbreaking. I wanted so much for Jake to beat his addiction and take over the family boat Cornelia Marie. I myself have tackled my addiction so I really rooted for him but seeing this just means he isnt ready yet. I hope he stops before he dies. Only thing that comes from drug addiction is Jail,Institutions or Death. On a brighter note Josh Harris is a shining star and I love seeing him succeed at being a Captain and taking over for his Dad. Maybe one day if Jake straightens out his act the brothers Harris can fish for crab together on the Bering Sea like their awesome father before them.

Junkie got precisely what he deserved. Even from the limited and biased perspective of the TV show, this loser was given ample chances. He squandered them, then essentially pissed on his Dad's grave.

No one seems to see Jake's story. Grew up basically without a dad, Phil(RIP) was great but he was no candidate for father of the year. Gone most of the time. Maybe Jake didn't WANT to be a fisherman. My story is similar so I have a good idea of what Jake was feeling. Then he was thrown into fame and went astray, not the only famous kid to get in trouble. I hope he can find the strength to pull himself up, but it will be a hill not all can climb.
So sad.
