RESPONSE: Firefighter Shoots Neighbor in Self-Defense – Everything Law and Order Blog

On June 27th, 59-year-old Jeffrey Weigle got into an argument with 49-year-old Dean Keller, an Indianapolis Firefighter. The two men are neighbors and have had a long running dispute with each other. On this day, it was over a fence and while Weigle was yelling and insulting Keller’s wife he decided walking (or in this case riding) away wasn’t good enough. He returned and it escalated quickly…

Just got me to thinking about some points to consider about self-defense whether you’re a firefighter, a welder or a stay at home mom. Thanks as always guys!!

For the 500 or so people that saw the first version, I made a mistake and the video was cut off half way through. My bad..weird..first mistake I’ve EVER made in my life 🙂

  1. To be honest this was a 10 year in the making dean and his wife trained both ex Air force members. The neighbor had serious issue with his wife threatened to kill dean kill the kids and make his wife watch then shoot her. The authorities could not do enough to take the threat serious. The man got shoot threaten to get got of the hospital and go finish this…. his own family turned him in to the police and had to find him and arrest him. Last time I seen dean this self defense has change him. Sad that he did everything right and still pays a price emotional with a person that has a mental issue no one would deal with.

  2. I run up and down the drop off in my yard then jog to my range and in 30sec take minimum 2 shots fast as safely possible and yes it's hard to aim with an adrenaline dump and it takes a bunch of practice to get used to it

  3. Unfortunately in New Jersey the defender would be charged and convicted and spend thousands of dollars on lawyers and other legal fees. No self defense in New Jersey.

  4. Looks like the old guy got up just fine, says F*** you whipersnapper and walks away, i wonder how many times and where he was hit.

  5. When you are in a firefight… dig down into the ground and get all up into your rifle like you love each other

  6. I'd love to carry a gun. Unfortunately, if I defend myself, more than likely your friends in costumes will come and arrest me.

  7. Yep, I watched a state trooper tow a lawnmower and take the drunk to jail for driving the damn thing drunk through the neighborhood. Lol

  8. He can't have been that well trained if he shot 15 rounds at the guy from only a few yards away and he not only didn't die but managed to calmly stroll away afterwards… How many times did he actually manage to hit lawnmower man? Lol

  9. I am not sure whether I should be pleased at a positive video towards a firefighter or disturbed that you had a copy of the firefighters calender to hand!
I think I lean towards "werry, werry disturbed!"
    😀😎

  10. This reminds me of a similar incident that happened between neighbors, one ended up dead. The dead one placed a camera to film the staged incident that he intended to create based on the typical issue the fight was over. Both were armed and one decided to shoot because he felt threatened. Without knowing the entire situation shown in this video i don't want to pass judgement ,but I do find it odd to have the camera located in just the right spot.

  11. I’m as straight as the road to hell, but did that photographer really think puppies were necessary to sell firemen calendars?
