The incident shown in this video took place on December 14, 2017 in Delaware County, Ohio, on US-23 between Lazelle Road and SR-750.
As is seen in this video, 55-year-old Robert Fish of Columbus was driving a Toyota Corolla northbound on US-23 when he traveled left of the center line and struck a Ford Fusion head-on. The Fusion was immediately forced into the right lane — directly in the path of an oncoming semi. A fourth vehicle was struck by debris from the initial collision.
The driver of the Fusion was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and Fish was pronounced at the scene. Fish had been driving with three passengers, all of whom were hospitalized. One of those passengers, Lisa Hiles, 54, from Columbus, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The other two passengers sustained serious injuries.
No one in Fish’s car was wearing a seatbelt. All others involved were. (Which, I should add, is the reason I decided to share this video. Normally this kind of footage wouldn’t make the cut, but it’s an unfortunately ‘good’ reminder that seat belts actually do save lives.)
Note: The original version of this description listed the Ford model as “Focus.” The current version is correct.

New to the Roadcam series and wondering how it came about? Here’s the scoop:
In this channel’s never-ending pursuit of the absolute best police videos, we often come across footage such as you see in this video — typically held by the police department that investigated the incident or accident, although sometimes acquired through other avenues.
A couple of months ago I shared a sort-of-similar video with Patreon supporters and asked whether they thought the video belonged on Real World Police. Their unanimous and likely-correct answer was “no.” At least not without context sufficient to show the video’s nexus with the channel’s purpose.
But one of the messages I got alongside that was something like: “But… y’know… uhhh… we wouldn’t mind seeing it here!”
And thus, the Roadcam supporter-series was born. Today, one month later, we are hitting twenty episodes. Despite the fact that I have stretched the word “road” far beyond anything Webster might have imagined, I haven’t been hearing complaints.
This is Roadcam #20. With an incorrect title… (Lakewood, Washington is certainly not in Ohio.)

Damn.🚘💀
Holy crap, the semi had to come in for the finisher. Any update on everyone’s condition?
How stupid do you have to be that in order to avoid oncoming danger you turn into more/worse oncoming danger?! That dude should not be driving.
I feel naked sitting in a car without a seatbelt
truck stops fairly quickly
Props to the semi driver for angling towards the car's rear in a split second. Not much else he could've done. And shout out to the pedestrians and onlookers for rushing to the scene to help right away.
Be safe out there, folks, always wear a seat belt and don't drive distracted.
I think the truck driver saved a life
Just goes to show how important seatbelts are. Had the white car occupants all been wearing theirs, they would probably have had far less injuries and the woman who died may not have.
Putting on a seatbelt every time I get in the car was ingrained in me from a young age. I would feel naked and vulnerable without it in the car. I wish everyone felt that way.
If you're going to drive like an idiot, at least don't be THAT dumb to not wear a seatbelt
Not the fusion!
I will never understand how someone decides not to wear a seatbelt. I was always raised to put a seatbelt on when I get into a vehicle, it's that simple. It blows my mind how people decide not to wear a seatbelt as a driver or passenger, your chances of dying in a collision significantly increase.
when there are more deaths in america by cars than guns, lets ban cars!!
Vroom vroom
Omg
Just hope whoever was the fusion is good to go. The others failed at life. 109 years of experience between the 2 and they couldn't put on seat belts and stay in their lane. Stupid people get stupid prizes.

Damn that outro is annoying as hell.
That wasn’t a true t-bone. It was a jackass trying to pass the car in front of him using the oncoming traffic lane.
Very sad.
Wow what a bummer
This is a perfect example of why you don't swerve if you have to suddenly brake.
Don't swerve out of your lane and into oncoming traffic to avoid rear ending someone.
I just looked up the deceased driver Robert Fish… apparently he was blind in his left eye.
Some people just don't belong on the road
It takes a special kind of idiot to not take 2 seconds to click their seat belt. It takes a special kind of idiot to cross the center line in traffic. This PoS Fish was an idiot squad that went the way of natural selection, but all of these people were innocent because this guy wanted to text and drive.
Why does it take people literally FOREVER to get out and help. Thats a huge ass wreck and out of the 50 cars on the road, two people got out to help. The rest was busy taking snapchat videos. Truly sad, it's your civil duty.
Mad props to the semi driver. Extremely quick reflex to not hit the driver door and minimize injurie of the driver.
Good job!!!!
The guy making a left was an idiot and cause the entire accident
It takes 3 seconds to put on your belt and when on it saves your live. Dont see why People are not invested in putting on there belt
Robert fish was an imbecile
Conclusion: Seatbelts Save Lives
I was in a head-on collision got T-boned driver side must have been an angel watching over me that day because everyone walked away
Probably thought they had 3 lanes
Good reaction by the Truck Driver. They managed to miss the driver's door.
Why the hell does it say lakewood washington? Your title and title in the video do not match
As usual,
the one that caused the wreck,
got the least slamming.
The damage sustained by the Toyota Corolla wasn't that big, only if they where wearing seat belts probably the passenger on the back left side only would of died, I always tell my mom and dad to wear it but the never do
So, I'm confused. Is this Washington or Ohio?
If you see a wreck don't open doors and move bodies, majority of the time you do more harm then good. Unless that cars on fire or going into water, leave it alone, check for pulse..cool, talk to the person, keep them up, just don't move or let them move until professional help gets there.
Why is there only 2 votes on the poll
Two people died because of some asshat wreckless driver who was going to fast and tried to pass a car he was about to rear end across the double yellow line.
that ain't no t-bone, that's a porterhouse
the person in the fusion could have avoided the collision if he was paying more attention. at 21 seconds the fusion driver enter the frame, you can see a car in front on him and to the right as well as the semi behind him.
There is enough room for him to make an evasive maneuver.
at 26 seconds Toyota corolla enters the frame and he had a solid second to swerve into the right lane. but he wasn't paying attention
I would rather hit the blue car in the bumper then hit an on coming car.
Hope that idiot finished his text!
Obviously always wear seatbelts. But this is a perfect example of why when buying a car, you should see what its small overlap crash test scores are. In an accident like this your cars rating could mean the difference between life and death.
The curve of that arrow threw me off
You mean to tell me 2 people died because of this, but it wasn't anybody in the car who got boned by the semi? Wow
This was no accident, this was a wreck caused by idiotic felony reckless driving.
I will never understand people not wearing seat belts.
