The milestone 25th season of COPS premieres Saturday, Dec. 15 (8PM ET/PT) on FOX!!
For nearly a quarter-century, COPS has followed law enforcement agencies in more than 140 U.S. cities and has filmed in Europe, Asia and Central and South America. It was the first American television program to follow police in the former Soviet Union. A true pioneer of the reality television phenomenon, creator and executive producer John Langley is often credited with introducing the signature “video vérite” style of COPS, a camera technique that notably influenced TV advertising, news reporting and other network and syndicated programming.
Created by John Langley, COPS is produced by Langley Productions, Inc. and Fox Television Studios. John Langley and Morgan Langley are executive producers. Doug Waterman serves as supervising producer and Zach Ragsdale as producer.

Just out of curiosity, since it's MUCH easier to show the police your ID rather than having yourself arrested (depending on where you live). Also, the US is VERY FAR from Nazi Germany. Go ahead and live in North Korea or a similar country, where your rights won't be invaded because you won't have any.

No, my question was why do you NOT want to show the police your ID? It's a very simple thing; just show them it. If you've done nothing wrong (since you said you were only walking down the street), then you'll be free to go.
25 years this show has been on for. Longer than the Simpsons. And I never tire of watching it.

What's the matter with showing the cops your ID? Yes, technically you don't have to show them your ID. However, if you haven't done anything wrong, you shouldn't be afraid to give them your ID. In addition, some states do have laws where officers can arrest you if you refuse to show ID when you are detained. When they (detain) you, they most likely do have reasonable suspicion that you committed a crime (ie: you match the desc. of a wanted suspect). Also, please enjoy the video for what it is.
