See below for an important update.

Jeremy Dewitte’s first arrest for impersonating a police officer happened more than twenty years ago and he hasn’t slowed down since. In fact, Dewitte was arrested for impersonating a police officer three separate times in the last three months of 2019. In the interim Dewitte was hard at work racking up dozens of minor violations, with the occasional felony thrown in. To top it off, Dewitte is remarkably good at violating his probation.

In researching this case I created a spreadsheet to keep track of Dewitte’s Florida record. See the craziness for yourself: https://tiny.cc/dewittecases

The story of Dewitte’s first arrest takes more space than I have available here, so for now we begin when that case ends.

On 9/30/98 Jeremy Dewitte entered a plea of no contest to charges of impersonating a police officer and theft, instantly becoming a convicted felon. He was sentenced to five years probation, banned from Mobil gas stations for the duration, and ordered to repay a bit more than $14.

Fast forward through a couple of probation violations, 8 days jail, 6 months house arrest, and 3 years probation…

At this point you need to know that Dewitte’s probation officer had told him “to find gainful work in a field other than security.”

Then…on 5/7/01 someone told Dewitte’s probation officer that the convicted felon was in possession of a firearm. Who reported him? Why, one of the people that had hired him… to work as a security guard. Through his company. Wait for it… “Dewitte Security.”

The next day a warrant was issued and Dewitte was arrested, somehow managing to pick up new charges too.

This is how it went down:

“On 5/8/01, the arresting officer responded to [] to make contact with the defendant, who had an active capias for VOP. The arresting officer made phone contact with the defendant who advised that he was enroute. The defendant pulled up in a blue four door Chevy Lumina with dark tint. As the defendant opened the driver’s door the officer heard a police scanner with OPD dispatching. The defendant had the scanner hooked up next to the driver’s seat. The officer heard OPD units from the Southwest sector being dispatched to calls. Further inspection of the vehicle by the arresting officer, along with assisting officers, revealed white blinking lights mounted in the rear window and side wing windows. Also mounted in the windshield, were more lights behind the tinted strip, which when lit shined flashing blue.”

On 10/8/01 Dewitte’s probation morphed into a one-year sentence in Orange County Jail.

And you still don’t even know about Dewitte’s first arrest. You know, when he pretended to be a cop to steal $14 of gas. The full story is at http://tiny.cc/firstarrest

A closing comment:

I have hundreds of pages of records from Dewitte’s previous court cases, including the one that made him a registered sex offender. Other news outlets have reported on Dewitte’s arrest using sensational “Sex Offender Arrested For Impersonating…” headlines, and – frankly – I am disappointed. It can be tough to get information on a sex crime case, but if you are going to run headlines highlighting that someone is a sex offender, you should know something about the case’s gravity. According to the prosecutor – who certainly knew it was legally impossible – Dewtite had putatively “consensual” sex with a female who was not legally old enough to consent. She did not want Dewitte to receive a long sentence and neither did her parents. I question the ethics of running unqualified “Sex Offender Arrested!” headlines in reference to such a case. (Dewitte ended up having to serve four years for violating his probation, but that’s a whole other story.)

Damning new information has emerged. Visit https://tiny.cc/newperspective. Turn on captions.

In contextualizing the paragraph above – in particular the sentence beginning “She did not want Dewitte to receive…” it must be recognized that “she” was the prosecutor at Jeremy’s VOP sentencing — my source was not the victim. That prosecutor was not the same ASA that had worked the original case, and they only had the original ASA’s notes. In the interview linked above I confronted the victim with the transcript. In response, she explained what really happened.

  1. You might be wondering how the police came to possess Mr. Dewitte's body camera. It was seized as evidence during one of his fall 2019 impersonation arrests. (Examination of its contents, of course, led to the filing of additional charges against Dewitte.)

Correction: Mr. Dewitte was 18 years old when he was first arrested for impersonating a police officer, not 19 years old as stated in the on-screen annotation.

Update: Jeremy Charles Dewitte was arrested on 2/12/20 on a warrant for illegal wiretapping. He allegedly video recorded himself recording a phone call he had with an Assistant State Attorney; Florida is a two-party consent state.

    AN IMPORTANT UPDATE

For context, read the video description.

In January of this year I publicly spoke out against other media outlets' rush to the sensational headline 'Sex Offender Arrested For Impersonating Police Officer.' All of the evidence that was available on January 8, 2020 supported what I published on that day. But it's now seven months later, and an enormous body of new information (a significant amount of which is not yet public) has since emerged. Among that information is damning evidence that, fifteen years ago, Jeremy Dewitte groomed and sexually abused the then-15-year-old-girl whose family he and his brother Dylan were renting a room from at the time.

You can hear her story at https://tiny.cc/newperspective. Turn on captions.

Notably, Dylan became ensnared in his own sex crime mess after he messaged a young teenage girl – really a middle-aged male cop – that he would “pound that p***y red and make you come back for more."

This video’s description contains the line "She did not want Dewitte to receive a long sentence…" — referring to Jeremy's victim. Jeremy's supporters have jumped on those words, trying to use them as evidence that the victim changed her story. They are wrong; it was never her story.

Read in context, it is obvious that that my original source for that claim wasn't the victim. It was the prosecutor at Jeremy's probation violation sentencing, Assistant State Attorney Nicole Pegues. ASA Pegues had not been involved with Jeremy's original sex crime prosecution years earlier, and she was getting her information from the original prosecutor's notes, which she was unfamiliar with. (When questioned by the judge, ASA Pegues stated: "I wasn't here for the original sentence, but from the notes that I have here — if I could just read just a little bit…”)

My job is to pursue the truth and report it, and I don't shy away from asking tough questions. In my interview with Jeremy's victim I confronted her with the hearing transcript. I told her that the [new, VOP] prosecutor stated that she [the victim] had consensual sex with Jeremy. You can hear and evaluate her response for yourself in the video linked above. In my opinion, something I don't often share, she tells a plausible story – supported by a firsthand witness – that explains why her legal guardians at the time were incentivized to whitewash Jeremy's abuse. I have no reason to believe that she is lying, and many reasons to believe she is being honest. More evidence will come to light.

Lastly and least, the fringe group that supports career-criminal Dewitte have been trying to discredit his victim using an unattributed, unfalsifiable supposed email that maligns the victim's character. About that, all I have to say is that this story is no different than any other. If the evidence had pointed toward an invented story, I would have aggressively followed it. And if future evidence points toward an invented story I will aggressively follow it. Unattributed text on a screen is not evidence. And the supposed author of this alleged email bizarrely didn't send it to its obvious recipient: me. An anonymous letter slinging unverifiable accusations could be written by anyone. It has no probative value.

I have nothing against Jeremy Dewitte or Metro State. I cover them because of their insane behavior. But the behavior is insane, and it is has real-world consequences. Frankly, I don't understand how his supporters sleep at night.

  2. He’s like a character from Reno 911 but not funny just irritating,I don’t know why he’s allowed to keep doing this. The worst part is knowing he’ll never own up to it,he’s completely unaware that everyone knows too well that he’s a fraud but he keeps the unnecessary charade going. How he he not at least lost his license? Always thought impersonating an officer was a serious charge but he keeps doing it

  3. He sure didn't have a problem screaming at the people on the street, why is he having such a problem speaking to the judge? Power trip is a hell of a thing… Freaking POS…

  4. is it bad that I was waiting for him to go down @5:26? he's out there doing way too much for a funeral procession. he's one of those guys who tries to act so important and treats everyone else like his subordinates. ugh

  5. Is gas so cheap in US that someone decides to waste so much of it riding his motorcycle impersonating a cop for which he is not getting paid? Unless, he was making money uploading the footage in youtube.

  6. I serious dont understand what hes even doing half the time.. he seems to direct a lot of traffic that doesnt need directing..does he park his motorcycle in the middle of an intersection just to tell at people? Then he goes and flies down the street screaming about the right of way? I seriously can't follow this guy. Like at all. This is just weird man.. goes beyond just impersonating police. This man definitely has a screw loose.

  7. An the guy standing next to him while the judge was talking looked so nervous 😂 like he was gonna go to jail if that dude didn't shut up 😂. I feel him 😂

  8. He can't even listen to the judge? Dude u need to realize who is in charge…and it's not you. So he shouldve shut up and prayed for the beat

  9. 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷

  10. How can this guy get away with this …?if he were in New York he sure as hell wouldn't pull that … he would've been locked up the first time ….

  11. Is he playing charades in court for the judge infront of his lawyer that's supposed to be representing him.

  12. He's using his siren like a child playing a video game. Isn't it supposed to be for emergencies only for actual cops? He's just going woop woop lol look at me.

  13. 🤣🤣🤣 I wish this fool was doing this shit in Denver. I would purposely find him just to get in and let him try this shit on me. I love to argue and love to argue even more with morons. Awe would be SUCH A FUN DAY❣️❣️

  14. Just a question from dumb little ole me…not sure the date this happened but in it ..at the end he says his wife just lost their second som. In another very recent video on J's channel..metro state … he did about being Muslim and how great that community was…he said that they are so kind and incredibly generous…he recently had to dig the grave for his second sons burial and he couldn't as he didn't have the strength and they all jumped in to help him…he was heartbroken after the loss of the second son. This video and that video he made on his Muslim religion were not taken at the same tine…I know that for sure!. So while i am not insensitive to the loss of a child…Let alone two.. you .they were both buried in the Muslim cemetery that he does night security for and both with headstones, in Florida and I cannot find anything about a death notification, obituary or death record , nothing? Maybe..well obviously you could find out more and better than I …but just another thing I wonder if he's telling lies about to ..in this case get out of jail cuz his wife needs him his "second son just died" and in his video on his metro channel he stated it to tell how heavy his heart was from the loss and now his second son…a miscarriage is one thing…but coming from someone who has buried a child who lived, breathed and brought happiness to my life it was devastating to find out and I can't stand the thoughts of him doing that just to make his plight look better or worse then it is. Hopefully you.can find some death records because I cannot…in Florida I looked in the same place you can find birth, marriage, divorce marriage etc. no baby boy or even blank named Dewitte. Guess it's just bothering me…and I want to know if you.can help. Thank you.

  15. I like how he told the mustang and blue car get out of my funeral!! When he probably doesn't even know the family. Damn guy even told the hearse the damn hearse!! To get over…
P.s. I didn't know you can out rank a construction worker lol. Didn't even know that was possible!

  16. Also: METRO STATE's vehicles take a spare battery to sustain the disco party's lightshow. So appropriate for funerals. Thats gotta lift some moods

  17. I've been in a limo in a biker's funeral procession that included over 300 motorcycles and at least 50 cars and therefor required a (real) police escort to the services and wake and my god if this was how they behaved i'm sure somebody would'a gotten off their bike to cool his jets.

  18. They should really start their own club. They could have fake take downs and fake SWAT team raids. They could name themselves C.A.R police force for their grown up version of
Cops And Robbers. Girlfriends….. Who needs them?
