While on patrol Officer Parris runs a plate that comes back stolen out of Georgia. Officer Parris initiates a traffic stop and the driver and passenger attempt to exit the vehicle. Officer Parris orders them to get back to the vehicle. While waiting for back up units to arrive one of the passengers makes a run for it. He slips and falls several times. Officer Parris gives chase and tackles him in the middle of the street. All three suspects are taken into custody for the stolen vehicle. When the suspect who fled is asked why he ran, he stated “because I was being stupid”.
