New to the Roadcam series and wondering how it came about? Here’s the scoop:
In our never-ending pursuit of the best in otherwise-unreported otherwise-unpublished police footage and stories, we often come across material such as you see in this video — typically held by the police department that investigated the incident, though sometimes acquired through other avenues (as here, for example.)
About a year ago we shared a sort-of-similar video with Patreon supporters and asked whether they thought the video belonged on Real World Police. Their unanimous and probably-correct answer in that case was “no.” At least not without context showing the nexus between the video and the channel’s purpose.
But there was another message along with that. One that everyone seemed to agree on: “We wouldn’t mind seeing it here!”
And thus was born the Patreon series “Real World Police: Roadcam.” With more than two-dozen installments published to date, and more in the pipeline, a handful of the Roadcam videos have also been published for free on the main channel, as a teaser and for your general enjoyment.
It’s time for another.
*Yes, I know that you are all wondering about the Dewitte video. My satisfyingly-unsatisfying answer is that – for reasons that I can’t can’t get into (or I would tell you), its publication has clearly been delayed. On the good news front, you should have it soon. I’ve learned my lesson about telling you when.

Make sure after you hydroplane into an accident that you immediately get out of the safest place that you could be possibly equipped with multiple airbags and stand as close to the more potential hydroplaning vehicles. Oh and don't bother trying to get your vehicle out of the way of interstate speed traffic if it's still drivable. Just stand there looking at it scratching your head trying to figure out what those two words mean. "Common sense"

If your vehicle crashes on the highway and it can still drive. Drive it the fuck off the highway.
Tires are worn on some of those cars and it's a low spot or poor drainage or maybe poor high highway material in that area where the 3 went out of control…could be a combination…

Hydroplaning is scary and uncontrollable unless you put car in neutral and use the ebrake and slow gradually to i stop. I live in SWFL and we get 6†of rain every day…Or just buy a heavy truck !
Poor road design … no drainage.
Just more idiots that no nothing about cars with poor driving skills setting themselves up for failure. Would be willing to bet everyone of these morons has summer tires first of all because they are cheaper. They drive 2wd cars, because they are cheaper to buy and get better gas millage (cheaper) and less parts to break (cheaper). They buy cars with single piston front brakes (cheaper than dual or triple piston) and drum rear brakes (cheaper). With little driving skills and all of these weaknesses, you asking for accidents. Don't cheap out, buy an awd with all weather tires, with a real brake system. All this cheapness doesn't pay when your playing Russian Roulette with your life.

I've performed a hydroplane maneuver once before. It's terrifying. The only thing I could think about in that moment had nothing to do with how I could correct my course like they try and teach us, all I thought about was that I've had a really good life and had no regrets. I ended up going into on coming traffic on the other side of the highway and then back into the median. It was a scary moment, but I learned a lot about myself that day.
