Is it illegal to have a knife? I carry a knife in my car…. The reason is because I one time was cleaning my car and vacuuming it out. At the time I was driving a Chrysler town and country, so I was in the back vacuuming the back part of the van, and all of a sudden I look up and there is a middle aged black man sitting in my drivers seat. My heart hit the floor and I thought he was going to shut the door and take off with me in the back of my own car. I knew I was in trouble because I have children, and I have the locks on the two sliding doors in the back locked so that once the front door shuts my kids can’t open the door from the inside. I asked him if he would do me a favour and please step out of my car…. he turned around and looked at me and said “oh I’m sorry, do you have any spare change”. And of course I said whatever I needed to for him to get out …. ever since that happened I have keep a knife in my car, and I went and got a concealed carry license and purchased a gun.
Being addicted is more than just stopping drugs, it's hard as hell. I myself was an addict and I thank God I was never arrested, I got help before I got too deep

270 days completely sober for me. Locking people up for addiction generally leads to more addiction because the people face an even harder life afterwards with limited opportunities for housing and employment. It's a vicious cycle. Addiction is usually a result of abuse or depression. It's sad. I'm not trying to make excuses for them, but putting non violent people with violent people creates more violent people.
