Milwaukee, Wisconsin — The Milwaukee Police Department released dashcam footage and relevant information regarding an officer involved shooting that occurred on Thursday, January 27, 2022, on North 21st Street and West St. Paul Avenue. The officer, identified as Herbert Davis, was dispatched to the area after a passerby reported a man slumped over in a parked car. Body camera video shows the officer walk up to the car and open the door, finding the man slumped over as had been reported. He shined a light inside, pulled the keys out of the ignition and announced himself to the man as a Milwaukee police officer. Davis could not understand the man, who was later identified as 22-year-old Jetrin Rodthong. The two had a back-and-forth for a while before Davis called for medical help and asked Rodthong to get out of the car. Rodthong got out, and he and Davis began to struggle. Seconds later, Davis ran and ducked behind the car. At some point Rodthong raised a gun and opened fire at the officer Davis, falling onto his back. The officer Davis returned fire while still on the ground.

That’s when Rodthong got behind the car and fired additional shots at the officer Davis, who also returned fire at Rodthong. Rodthong then couches and runs into the officer’s squad car. The video shows Rodthong speeding off through snowy Milwaukee streets. While Rodthong was driving off in the squad car, you can hear over the radio Officer Davis saying he needs medical attention, shots had been fired and that Rodthong had stolen his car. He drives several minutes until crashing into another car in an intersection. Rodthong ran off, but police caught up a block away. Both he and Davis were shot in the incident. Rodthong has since been charged and pleaded not guilty. He is awaiting trial, held on more than $1 million bond at the Milwaukee County Criminal Justice facility. Officer Davis sustained gunshot injuries to his left shoulder and left flank from the suspect’s gunfire. The bullet that entered his shoulder traveled into his chest near his sternum. He walked out of the hospital the next day.

  1. Don’t think you can’t be an innocent victim. These criminals are all over every city in America.

  2. Thank god that officer is ok. Wow. Walked out of the hospital the next day like a boss. If the suspect just said he shot the officer because antifa and blm he would have been bailed out and gotten millions from the city. What an idiot. Seriously anyone ever getting arrested. Just say you did your crime because white people and you will swallow anyone from blm or antifa. You WILL be bailed out and awarded millions from Bidens crime family because America is bad.

  3. As someone who lives 20 minutes from Milwaukee… this is just one of a plethora of reasons why I refuse to live in that city. Fuck the city, and fuck everyone living in it. I live in finished back room of a garage and will gladly pay the rent I do before I pay the same amount for big apartment over there. My mother moved away for this exact reason and I respect her more everyday for it.

  4. The idiot pleaded not guilty well with the Democrats letting criminals free on the daily why not give it a shot😉

  5. Clearly the driver was acting very suspiciously, hunching over to hide something, which behavior is seen before many times when trying to conceal a weapon, never a Bible. Better training is needed.

  6. Why does the video description not include information as to whether or not the innocent driver (that was T-boned by this lowlife) was seriously injured?

  7. I hope they give the POS life in solitary confinement. Trying to murder someone who just wanted to help, smh.

  8. That sequence of events is going to cost Milwaukee a lot of $,glad the officer is okay, secure your vehicle when you leave it.
