Thurston County, Washington — On October 3, 2024, early in the morning, a Thurston County Deputy observed a Nissan 350z in the Rochester area with no license plates. When the deputy attempted to pull out behind the vehicle, it sped through a gas station parking lot before driving recklessly through a neighborhood. The deputy initiated a pursuit at that time. The vehicle fled down Hwy 12 at 130mph before turning south on Sargent Rd. The vehicle spun out, and when it attempted to continue fleeing, the deputy used his vehicle to pin the suspect’s car, effectively disabling it.

When the deputy ordered the driver to show their hands, his response was “why?” before fleeing on foot. K9 Igo and his handler were called out, and they tracked the suspect to a heavily wooded area. Despite numerous K9 warnings, the driver refused to surrender until K9 Igo made contact. The driver was medically cleared and booked into TCSO jail for driving on a suspended license and attempting to elude. Had the driver pulled over, they would have received a future court date for suspended driving.
