  1. This goes back over 40 years, but, the Department I worked for required us to pass the physical agility test … EVERY YEAR. we were expected to train with our firearms on a regular basis and had to qualify twice a year with EVERY weapon we used. Sidearm, Shotgun and Carbine. We also had to log at least 8 hours of range time per month. We could carry any sidearm we were comfortable with. It just had to be .38 special or larger and a minimum of 4 inches. We had to qualify with it. Change sidearm? Had to qualify with it as well. We also never transported prisoners alone. It was always two officers and we wouldn't get out of the vehicle until someone from the lock up came out. They'd also be frisked again before they went outside.

  2. Retired LE. All excellent advice from Mike. Moving prisoners is potentially a very dangerous and volatile duty. Never take anything for granted. Secure the weapon. Secure the prisoner. Do not allow a claimed need for handicap assistance to lull you into a false sense that the prisoner is helpless. Treat prisoners like you would a gun. Assume they are loaded and that they could go off any time. Stay in shape and never quit fighting.

  3. Bar fight progression.
    1. Words are exchanged.
    2. One guy pushes the other
    3. One guy throws a haymaker aka overhand right.
    4. If the overhand right does not work, the aggressor will try a double leg takedown.

If you know how to grapple then you know the ben askren move, aka you knee Ben Askren in the face.

  4. With the way things are going, and the administration in office currently…I bet this guy will get a citation and promise to appear in court for this.

  5. Here’s the 1 and ONLY rule corrections officers should follow, don’t become a sloppy fuck like these 2!! lol Jesus man he flopped around like a beached wale haha 😂 glad they both made it atleast.

  6. I worked transporting prisoners for years and you always secure your weapon before removing them from the vehicle.
And you should never transport a prisoner by yourself. If it’s a single person transport arrest you should have backup waiting for you in the sally port period.

  7. My first take away is the prisoner was in a wheel chair and somehow able to take away the Ofc weapon and fight with him? Seems to me the Ofc was eating to many donuts.

  8. The officer turned his side with his holstered weapon right to the prisoner and reached in a way that made the pistol easily accessible. I worked at a gun shop 20+ years ago, carrying a gun every day for those 5 years. I still won't let anyone near my 4 o'clock. It's just instinctive, and it has stuck with me all this time.

  9. Always be prepared ! You said it best train train train ! And if your doing that job always expect a criminal to be sneaky

  10. Police departments should definitely do more BJJ or Catch Wrestling or some effective discipline of submission grappling where they can test their stuff on a regular basis.

  11. This was obviously a racially motivated arrest and the "suspect" was just defending himself from the inevitable roots style whipping that awaited his arrival!

  12. This just made me realize I completely don't understand how criminals think, like bruh your litterally in the police station how do you think you'd escape by shooting 1 officer smh.
