Thurston County, Washington — On November 6, 2024, Thurston County Sheriff Office attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on Delphi Rd SW. The driver refused to pull over and fled at speeds of 100mph. The vehicle repeatedly drove in the oncoming lane of travel at high speeds. The Sergeant in pursuit deployed one of the new Grappler devices, which resulted in the driver veering off through a chain link fence before hitting a tree. The driver ran on foot while refusing to follow commands, and was quickly apprehended by K9 Mac and Deputies. A search warrant for the vehicle located a handgun and a substance suspected to be methamphetamine. The driver had an escape warrant for felony assault in addition to warrants for hit and run and reckless driving. The driver has been booked into TCSO jail for attempting to elude, possession of a stolen car, unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving on a suspended license, and resisting arrest.

  2. What a great catch… The driver who changed his mind about fleeing on foot was funny… "You're gonna get bit!" I love the Grappler! It's almost as good as a "frickin' laser beam". I think it's inevitable that in the future, law enforcement will be able to electronically disable any car, temporarily. I've seen plenty of those high-speed chases at over 100 mph in an urban neighborhood, and it's INSANE. It's a risk that can be avoided, and the Grappler is one of those great first steps.

  3. Great job … but probably for nothing ! Look at all the charges he already had … and they still let him out …. It’s the judges , the laws and the slime bag lawyers who get these guys released and the judges who agree to do so !
