Deputy Larry Wincelowicz of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office attempts to conduct a welfare check on a woman who was seen walking down the street with a torn shirt. Lee County dispatchers received a call earlier that day about a male and female fighting and the woman matched their description. Deputy Wincelowicz spots the woman and as he approaches her she takes off running into the woods. She proceeds to stop only after stumbling into a fence in the brush. The woman yells out, “Wait, why are you chasing me?” and the deputy responds by asking, “Why are you running from me?” Deputy Wincelowicz attempts to detain her but struggles as the woman argues and resists. Another officer assists Deputy Wincelowicz and they are able to remove her from under a tree. The woman finally admits that she has an active warrant and proceeds to cry and plead to see her daughter. Upon being placed in the patrol car, the woman tells Wincelowicz she ran because she believed she could get away from the officer but failed to notice the fence in her path. The deputy tells the woman that she made a simple situation into a bigger ordeal and now has to face two charges her warrant and resisting arrest.

  1. I know a woman who acts like this. She always flips out and goes on insane tirades on Facebook about how everyone is keeping her daughter away from her, spamming our local Elementary pages with awful things and administrators pages… Which have nothing to do with her daughter being taken away from her by the court. Her daughter has a court ordered protection from her. From the various times she has put her daughter in compromising situations with people she doesn't know, and outright verbal abuse of her kid and her kid's father. And of course she does nothing legally to fight for her kid, just expects to be owed a place in her life because she birthed her. Every kid deserves a parent but not every parent deserves a kid.

  2. Deputy Larry Wincelowicz Did a good job put her in handcuffs and arrest her on warrant out of her arrest and he did the right thing to approach her when deputy larry wincelowicz had tell her she was going to tased if runs away from deputy larry wincelowicz and will get an addtional charges on her for resisting without violence and the warrant out for her arrest

  3. I'm so tired of hearing officers say things like "would have RAN," instead of, correctly, "would have RUN."  Is this some sort of rural or similarly low-end educational system at fault?
