Washington, DC — On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a U.S. Park Police officer contacted an individual, later identified as 30-year-old Turell Delonte Campbell for a suspected narcotics violation in the area of 12th Street and Massachusetts Avenue NW. Campbell fled on foot heading north on 12th St NW. Campbell and the officer exchanged gun fire, resulting in both parties being shot. Responding officers immediately rendered aid to both the involved Campbell and officer, who were transported to area hospitals. Campbell was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The officer is listed in stable condition and is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds. A firearm was recovered at the scene.

The standards were lowered after the experienced, and competent officers retired because of the BLM riots. This is the consequence of that.
Why do people even do this job anymore in these cities? Call me an accelerationist, but i think all cops in big cities should just quit indefinitely until the people in charge are forced to a) reform the justice system by throwing out all these pro-crime prosecutors that let these criminals go free and b) untie the hands of law enforcement so they can actually do their job without having to worry about being punished for “racism†or whatever when they enforce the law. Until then, incidents like this will just become increasingly common.

How can this be in Washington DC? Gun control is just so effective. In every city it's the same thing over and over, no consequences for the criminals. Poor Turell, he was different, just a poor doctor school student on his way to school when he found a gun, well this being the first gun he ever held he was scared and him being young and innocent, he ran, and the gun just went off on its own (just like Alek Baldwins single action revolver) Gun control never stops crime. Just interferes with law abiding citizens who want to be able to defend themselves and their families from these thugs.
