Officer Steve Douglas of Palm Springs Police Department stops a man riding his bicycle in the dark. In the man’s backpack, he finds drug paraphernalia which he claims to belong to a man named Louis. With the promise of information that can lead to the capture of a drug dealer in the area, Officer Douglas gives the man a break and lets him go.

COPS has been documenting police work for over three decades. This episode was filmed in 2003.

  2. I mean be was on probation and was found w drugs. He was probably going to go back to jail for a while or the remainder of his sentence. So do I really blame him for folding? No. Would I do it? No. Everyone is different.

  3. how many backpacks do cops have searched until they find drugs? All of those backpack searches never make it on air because they want Americans to keep supporting the war on drugs even if there are constituitonal violations

  4. For the people thinking the police officer let him go cause he believed the drugs that were on him where actually the other guys you guys need to open your eyes! This guy snitched on the other guys that’s why he was released it’s called being an informant idiots!
