Watertown, Wisconsin — On October 18, 2023, Watertown Police officers were looking for 30-year-old Justin Whitten as a suspect in an on-going domestic abuse investigation. At one point, officers found Whitten driving a vehicle and attempted a traffic stop with him. However, Whitten fled from police in his vehicle, going at least 70 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone; that pursuit was terminated. As officers were searching to see if Whitten crashed after they terminated the pursuit, law enforcement learned Whitten got out of his vehicle and was on a skateboard. At approximately 3:50 p.m., Officer Nathan Zubke was driving his squad car in the vicinity of 1300 Western Avenue in the City of Watertown when he saw an individual he believed was Whitten on a skateboard.

Whitten can be seen ignoring Officer Zubke’s commands to stop and get on the ground on footage from Zubke’s body camera. Officer Zubke ran after Whitten as he skateboarded away and was quickly passed by Officer James Simon’s unmarked squad car. Officer Simon’s body camera footage shows him drawing his gun almost immediately after parking his patrol car, pointing the weapon at Whitten, who appears to pull something black from his pocket. Officer Zubke is holding his taser, yelling “he’s got … gun, gun, gun.” Officer Simon shot Whitten twice, yelling for Whitten to roll away from the gun he was holding after he fell. Simon picked up Whitten’s gun, tossing it away from him as the man rolled onto his back. After officers handcuffed Whitten, EMTs arrived. He died at the scene.

  1. I bet the guy who got got didn’t buy his weapon “legally.” And lawmakers think barring people convicted of domestic violence from legally purchasing firearms is effective? I don’t think so, Scooter!

  2. I'd love to know how he actually THOUGHT that was going to play out lol…He played a stupid game and got his stupid prize! Congratulations, your an idiot!…

  4. "Are you ready, hey, are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat, yeah

    Another one bites the dust
    Another one bites the dust
And another one gone, and another one gone
Another one bites the dust" -Queen

Job well done, officers and MUCH thanks to your efforts to keep us safe! God bless.

  5. Watertown Police Department is now using a new experimental firearm that turns people into gray blobs when shot. This could be revolutionary, folks.

  6. And this is why you carry with one in the tube. This moron honestly thought he had to to draw on drawn guns, fiddle with his safety and try to rack his slide and the cops weren’t going to do anything 😂😂😂 As Bugs Bunny once said: what a maroon.
