Wauwatosa, Wisconsin — On April 5th, 2022 at 9131 West Congress Street in the City of Milwaukee, two Wauwatosa Police Officers, Dexter Schleis and Evan Olson discharged their firearms at 17-year-old Damiso Lee after after he refused to drop a gun and attempted to flee the two officers. As officer Olson was parked, a silver car passed by. An automatic license plate reader system installed in Olson’s squad activated, linking the vehicle to a stolen car report. Although the system is automated, Olson needed to do some additional fact checking. According to the district attorney’s decision summary, Olson checked the squad’s computer to see if the photo captured by the plate reader matched the vehicle.

The dispatchers confirmed its stolen status to Olson, but the owner had not told police that the car was recovered. The Silver Pontiac Grand Prix pulled into an alleyway and officers tried to contact the driver. Lee got out of the car, armed with a handgun. Officers yelled at Lee to drop the gun but he refused. That’s when Lee attempted to flee the officers. The two officers opened fire, striking Lee. The two officers started rendering aid until Milwaukee Fire Department paramedics arrived and brought him to a local hospital. Lee sustained non-life threatening injuries during this encounter. The DA’s Office has charged Lee with a misdemeanor count of possession of a dangerous weapon by a person younger than 18. The Milwaukee County District Attorney ruled the officers were justified in their actions.

  1. I love how the cops slow down after the guy has been shot. They should take their time and let him suffer. Glove up. Pat him down. Take time calling ambulance. 😊

  2. Only people responsible for this incident is Lee's family for failing to report the vehicle as returned.
And Lee himself for having a gun, refusing simple commands to not touch the gun, run, fall, get up and pick up the gun to run some more.

  3. Where the fuck were the parents of this kid? How'd he manage to get a gun? My guess is his parents didn't lock up their shit or teach their kids not to fuck around with firearms.

  4. I'm always so amazed how quick these things happen. You see these short videos on Police Activity and you're like oh what could possibly happen in like two or three minutes. A whole lot can happen. This never ceases to amaze me.

  5. Damn. For you to only get a misdemeanor and not get killed in this situation. That’s a miracle. Stop playing around with the Police. They will defend themselves if you do dumb stuff like this.

  6. was his car, WHY DID HE RUN?
yea he had a gun but the cops already saw that, did he think he can outrun them when they are pointing guns at him?
AND WHY DID HE REACH FOR HIS GUN? or his loose pants? 😀
overall pretty dumb from the guy

  7. "Why the F*&^ ya'll shoot me?!!?" Ummm because you had a fucking gun when they told you not to reach for it and to drop it?
