This clip from the Failure to Stop Podcast today breaks down the case of Ben Darby as seen through our experience looking at the evidence and the trial experience as shared by Ben’s wife Keelin, who is also a cop in Alabama. Ben is fighting a 25 year murder conviction for an OIS in 2018. Officers should pay special attention as any of you could be in Ben’s situation at any moment of any shift.

Two years left in corrections. If I was on the other end, with the way it is today… nope.
She shouldn't have been a cop anyway. How is she going to wrestle an asshole on the side of the street on any given Friday night? Get real. She's going to shoot him in the face. Or her partner. This was step one in the degradation of our police forces.
Why is anyone still supporting BRCC?
Got me I don’t know? ! ! ! …………… when I was a kid, a very impressive job, now you are satin. People are dumb and fucked up and listening to dumber and more fucked up people so there I said it! I LIKE COPS they are here to HELP . ðŸ£
Have so many buddies apply from DOC to PD or deputies and most don't even get the job or the polygraph is failed. But yet a polygraph isn't even valid in court. Yet you still have dirt bags become cops.
WE NEED GOOD COPS OUT THERE. GET THE 💩 BAGS OUT‼ï¸â€¼ï¸â€¼ï¸â€¼ï¸
I am wondering why you are wearing a turncoat companies t-shirt.
Met a female cop today, should've got her number 😒
I work security, used to interact with PD a lot, and now it's nuts. We had guards assaulted, no PD response. We had a guard hospitalized with life threatening injuries, no PD response. We've had violent subjects in custody for 9+ hours, no PD response.
I work in two cities, and for 3 companies, and the only time PD has shown up in the last six months was to arrest a guard, claiming we aren't allowed to handcuff robbery subjects, trying to throw her wait around like a moron. Booking cut our guy lose, of course. Our lawyers are laser focused on that officer tho, we want her on the street.
Our clients don't call PD anymore, they call our guards. You know, the guys driving around in a Prius with a total of 32 hours of training? Yeah, they call us first. We are not first responders, we don't have the training, or equipment, or mentally, and we certainly aren't paid for it(12.50hr). PD is. Or was.
Long story short, I don't blame anyone for quiting, I don't. But these trash officers that stick around, and then do nothing, are COWARDS. DO YOUR JOB OR QUIT!
I like ur channel… and today I started my process to become a sherif in riverside county. I am passionate about it and I want to make my family proud.
I want to be a cop. I have many other (better paying) options, but doing so is the best way to better serve people in a way that's similar to how I already try to do. There's nothing I'd rather do, and I can take the hate if I can close my eyes at night (or in the morning after a night shift) knowing that I did everything to help and serve others.
Some people love the job. Personally, when I get my record expunged, I'll be applying to every agency I can. (Well I'll apply to the ones who back their officers)
Policing is creaking under the weight of multiple compound failures from the rest of society.
It's an impossible job as it exists.
I absolutely love LEOs, they are the some of the only people who risk their lives to save and protect people â¤
We love the cops here. But we police them as much as they police us. God bless you guys.
Been a LE for 13 years, Been Sheriff for 2.5 of those. We have the peoples backing, but dumb laws, low pay, long hours, and no staff make me want to quit daily.
Was asked that question when I was trying to do change careers to fulfill my dream of being a cop, my answer: there are many people who are unable to defend themselves and they need a good person to do so. Medical issue took that dream from me.
To be a cop today is only good for not getting speeding tickets! Otherwise just show up and do all you can not to get involved way criminal acting occurs
Officers should pay special attention as any of you could be in Ben's situation at any moment of any shift.
