Patrol Deputy Greg Ayres Jr. – Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office
Deputy Ayres with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office makes a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied twice. The nervous driver makes a slow stop and upon contact, he states that he is driving his girlfriend to a hotel because of troubles she is having with her parents at home. Deputy Ayres ask the driver to step out and talk with him and the driver goes on to tell Ayres that he is no longer an active gang member even though he is registered. The man then claims to have no knowledge of narcotics or firearms in his girlfriend’s car but minds if there is a K9 called out for a sniff only because he says the car is not his. The girlfriend eventually gives consent to search the vehicle and states that there are no drugs or guns inside. Ayres conducts a search of the vehicle and finds a loaded handgun between the center consul and front passengers seat. The girlfriend says she has no knowledge of her boyfriend owning a weapon and reminds Ayres that she was sitting in the back seat. The driver explains to Ayres that the handgun was not within his reach and knows for a fact that it was not under the driver’s seat. The girlfriend is shown the firearm and claims to have never seen it, she is allowed to drive away. The boyfriend who is a registered gang member and convicted felon tries to plea with Deputy Ayres but is ultimately booked for unlawful carry of a weapon.

  1. The next time you see a cop with a headlight out, you stop his ass. And you ask him to write himself a warning. If he gives you attitude, make him write a ticket to himself. If it warrants traffic stop for them, then it warrants WTF's from the people.

  2. Should be illegal for officers to put people under duress by saying there gonna do illegal stuff. I read somewhere a law officer cannot make a citizen wait for a k9 officer to arrive to try to find probably cause he has to conduct his stop in a timely manner and keep it moving
