  1. One of the best thing to do when you come across one of these check points if your sober, is to drive around the block and back threw over and over. It drives them crazy. Tell them your trying to get your moneys worth.

  2. Good god, the reality that these morons are being paid OVERTIME to harass and (ideally) seize/extort property and/or money from the citizens is disgusting. Worse yet, the fact they do so with so much manpower that most of them stand around with a thumb in their ass is absolutely absurd. What a waste of money.

  3. So matter of fact that it's scary. The people enter here and then we carry them out over there. Then the ovens have to be at the right temperature.

  4. I never realized what a big operation these checkpoints are and therefore how much they must cost and how many actual criminals are being left alone so the cops can support the private prisons and the lawyers. It's disgusting.

  5. Don't forget to donate to the Mad Mothers Against Liberty (MMAL) so we can have more DUI checkpoints and a lower legal BAL. I'm sure the lawyers would support that.

  6. I live in south western Pennsylvania and we have these check points too. All the years I have been driving 2 years ago I went through my first one. The officer was very polite and asked to see my driver's license. Looked at it for half a second and said, "Go ahead ma'am" But if it's a DUI check point why do they ask for your license?

  7. Laura, how do you feel about these check points? Do you think they are unconstitutional or a good thing? I see both sides. I believe it is unconstitutional because it's illegal seizure. I mean normally a cop just can't randomly pull over cars for no reason. I can see if you are driving recklessly and you get pulled over the cop might think you are drinking or high on something. Cops will tell you and it's even in the driver's manual that it's a "privilege" not a "right" to drive on the roads. I don't see that. Us the taxpayers pay for those roads to be built but they are gonna tell me it's a "privilege" to drive on the roads we helped pay for? That's like saying if I sewed my own dress and paid for the material I get told it's my "privilege" to wear it? Getting back to the check points…the other side is the cops are taking drunk drivers off the road that potentially could have killed themselves or someone else. So I don't know.

  8. So why are you guys so against DUI drivers getting caught? Have you seen the carnage, death and injury caused by DUI drivers?
Do you know any families that have suffered a tragic loss because of a DUI driver? And if so how can you be so against efforts to stop them? If someone you loved was killed by a DUI driver would you still be so supportive of their right to drive drunk without being detained by a checkpoint?

  9. 900 people stopped without reasonable suspicion, 10 arrested for various reasons. This is legal in California? Amazing how soon Americans have learned to give up our freedom.

  10. It's my understanding that these checkpoints are federally funded. The officers time, OT, dispatcher, vehicles etc. is included.

  11. So this is how they fight crime in California, while people are getting mugged, jumped, and killed there pulling cars over for no reason what so ever and sitting around bullshiting, eating and wasting valuable resources wow good stuff +LaurasharkCW
