Fake Cop Busted at Friend’s DWI Arrest – Everything Law and Order Blog

@Copwatchtv obtained body camera footage of a bizarre way for a friend to try to get their friend out of a DWI arrest. A man was stopped by Eddy County Sheriff Deputies for drunk driving. He had a few of his friends in the car. A New Mexico State Police officer came to back up the deputy when one of the passengers claimed to be a Texas State Trooper.

The New Mexico State Police officer did not buy the man’s story and started to investigate the claims.

  1. Before body cameras, you might be able to back away from a lie, "no, I said I applied to DPS 2 months ago, I want a job with them" or something similar and a judge would give you the benefit of the doubt. Now, with the cameras, your lies are on the record.

  2. I am more concerned about the Chief that turned out at the scene, he seemed to be a bit unstable on his legs and a silly smile on his face , maybe they should have checked him for DUI.
