The NYPD Patrol Guide directs officers to call their vehicles & themselves “Out-Of-Service” for meal…..also, officers are directed to take their meals at assigned locations, and not in “Open View Of The Public” while in Uniform.
This violation robs City Tax Payers for millions of dollars per year, I say millions because I have seen many officers utilizing their meal breaks while on Active Duty & on their favorite Post, “Protest Detail”…

We will continue to monitor & document these violations while officers are assigned to a protest, utilizing that time to take their meals or watch a movie on their personal devices, which we have recorded in the past.
