James, here is the counter to when they give orders and claim theyre lawful orders. explain to them, that the only time their orders can be lawful orders, is if they are advising you to obey a law. for example, "sir, im giving you a lawful order to not jaywalk." if they arent telling you to obey a specific "law" then it cant be a "lawful order". the implications are that theyre legislating "law" on the fly, and whatever they say is the "law". and tell them no, that you dont have to obey their whims.

It's rare to find an American police officer that cares about the safety of citizens, in fact most times they'll happily gun you and your family down, but one thing they have constantly demonstrated is that they above all else care about not being held accountable.
It's a lawful order.. which means it's full of law.. but since cops don't know the law and actually fought to the high court's for the exemption to knowing the law. They won't know what the law is… I suppose they could follow their POLICY PROCESSES and PROCEDURES.. which include blocking the road and putting up tape.but that's too hard for fraidy cop..
