    1. Can I look at people leaving the courthouse, or do I have to look away and shield my eyes?
    2. Assuming I can look, can I then draw a picture of them?
    3. After leaving the courthouse, how far must someone be from it before I am allowed to film them again?
    4. If I am filming someone approaching the courthouse, how close to the courthouse can they get before I have to stop filming them?

Could I create a video, using already available footage of someone leaving the courthouse, and then video-shop the head of a person I saw leaving the courthouse that day(with footage I obtained later away from the courthouse) onto the body of the person leaving the courthouse in the footage?

19. The Missouri Governor is the person to complain to if you want this joke of a judge removed from office. The link below will take you to the governor's contact page and I suggest the following verbiage under the subject of Court/ Complaints. "I am writing to express my grave concern regarding the abuses of Circuit Judge Steve Privette of the 37th Judicial Circuit. While I am not a Missourian, I do take a strong interest in ensuring that the protections afforded by the Constitution are recognized and respected. Recently Judge Privette was ordering deputies of the Howard County Sheriff to drag people off the public sidewalk under threat of arrest so he could threaten them with jail time and fines for contempt of court because they were engaged in filming in public areas OUTSIDE the Courthouse. Even worse, this is not a one time incident as he also threatened his wife's political opponent Circuit Court Clerk Betty Grooms. I'm astonished that such behavior has gone unnoticed until now. You need to REMOVE Judge Steve Privette from office and refer him to the Bar Association."

24. Using this fool's "telescope" logic, taking a picture of the courthouse from satellite in space is contempt. When you really want to see how stupid some people are take their logic to the extreme. Did this numbskull graduate last in his law class?

    While many of the commenters here are praising the Sheriff for upholding the Constitution, I don't see it that way. I see it as someone who knows the limits of qualified immunity and the futility of the Nuremburg defense ("I was just following orders."). Qualified immunity is stripped when a reasonable cop knows or should have known that his conduct violates a well established right. What he did was done to simply keeps himself and his deputies from losing their QI, not to fulfill the higher purpose of honoring their Constitutional oaths. Cops don't give fat brown rat's ass about Constitutional rights until they are the ones under investigation or wearing those cute silver bracelets.

30. Sheriff Brent Campbell seems to be an example of what police are supposed to be and do. I was convinced that there could not be a single ranking officer with ACTUAL integrity and honor in the entire USA when it comes to holding power accountable to the oath that was taken.
