Danger Awaits At Every Turn: A Death Every Minute On Texas Highways | Witness | US Road Documentary – Everything Law and Order Blog

It’s the most dangerous road in Texas, and the second deadliest road in the USA. Someone is killed every two hours on Interstate 35, which runs from Dallas to Houston. Roads don’t get much more dangerous than this.

Hazards include speeding drivers or those don’t obey the rules of the road, people who use their phone while driving, drunk drivers, and even car chases. There are laws in place, but it’s rare for penalties to be imposed. Our film shows how some drivers of heavy vehicles take unnecessary risks. But the poor condition of the road doesn’t help the situation. The state of the road is hardly worthy of the wealthiest country in the world.

Bad weather causes further problems, with torrential rains often causing fatal accidents. The most horrifying accident took place on February 11th 2021 in Fort Worth. Ice on the road and poor visibility caused a gigantic pile-up involving nearly 130 vehicles. Six people died. The tragedy hit Texans hard. We use archive and witness testimony to explain how this terrible accident happened. We follow all those whose lives are tied to Interstate 35: police, rescue workers, firefighters, but also drivers, including families who need to take this road every day, even in fear for their lives.

An accident is reported every 56 seconds in Texas. How did it become the most dangerous state in the USA for drivers? Why are there so many accidents on Texas’ highways? We uncover the secrets of the fabled Interstate 35, the road where danger waits at every turn.

  1. America thinks driving is a joke. Warning don’t do shit. I speed at 10-15 over literally everywhere cause I know I’ll get away with it. Ops and judges letting people off has created this

  2. The police in my area I guarantee you will get a ticket issued. This dork doing the commentary found a couple of policemen who are the exception not the norm. Come to San Antonio and surrounding area you do five to ten miles over you will be ticketed, 20 over you're going to jail.

  3. Police Officer, Rick, has seen some of the most dramatic accidents, but still doesn't think he needs to wear a seat belt!!

  4. Better reporting would have discovered that although the population of Texas increased by 50% since 2000, and the number of troopers increased by 25%, the number of citations written by troopers declined by 25%, from 1.2 million tickets a year to 900,000. A conservative majority government has steadily increased speed limits, which is good for the oil industry, while decreasing enforcement, which is bad for human beings.

  5. Did he say no point system exists in the United States or did he mean just in Texas? In CA 4 points in three years was always a license suspension. Unless they changed it in the three years since I moved away.

  6. Ever see the series called Faces of death?
Watching that will give you a new respect for just how soft and malleable people are.

  7. They all drive way too fast, while messing with their phones, while doing their makeup, as some pleasure themselves (literally) behind the wheel, while drinking, while messing with their radios, while arguing with their kids, while counting their pills, while running from their problems, while going to their side pieces house, while complaining about their life, while blaming everyone but themselves.

  8. Much of the knowledge stated here is wrong!! Biased reporting to make the U.S. look bad, and the U.K. to look good. I'd rather live in Texas than anywhere near nanny state U.K.

  9. Too many young drivers use our roads and highways as race tracks and those punks on dirtbikes should be arrested fined and their bikes taken away and the courts need to make it really hurt bad for their crimes and stop this minor slap on the wrist crap !!!

  10. people have less and less money every year, and they need an outlet for that depression, anger and overall sadness of real life sometimes.

  11. 4 warnings?! 😂 come to Australia and NO warnings fines and points ofcourse they gonna disobey! Warnings?! What a waste and a joke! Fine them hit em at the pocket where it hurts and they will learn. I did. After now nearly $6k in fines and it does catch up on you. Stay safe out there ❤from Australia 😊

  12. no warnings in az. and they will raise your ins. after 3 tickets loose license over 25 miles an hour = wreckless driving arrested impound car ticket same in ca. they just raised all ins. 25% for no reason i had to reduce it to liability only glad i don't live in a big city

  13. The leader of these young motorcyclists has ill intentions for them. What they’re doing riding wheelies and doing stunts on their motorcycles while driving is more dangerous than drinking and drug use.

  14. People who drive recklessly and speed think they are above the law, they think they are more important or that they can talk their way out of it because they have in the past.
They live on the edge and break the law as if they are more important than others, but they are not. They are delusional self-entitled and self-absorbed, and they need to lose their driving privileges and be made to take classes to teach them empathy and respect for others and respect for the law, instead of just themselves.

  15. I live in Texas and have since 1975. It all depends on where you live in Texas and your attitude that determines whether you get a warning or a ticket. Be completely aware of your surroundings. If you have eyes in back of your head, use them. If you have an eyeball on either side of your head, use them too. You need 360 degree awareness while driving these days. Drivers today are worse than they have ever been.
