Producer Kristin Canty’s film, Farmageddon, documents her quest to find healthy food for her four children and turns into an educational journey to discover why she is denied the freedom to select the foods of her choice from the producer of her choice.

The movie tells the story of small, family farmers providing safe, healthy foods to their communities who were forced to stop, often through violent action, by agents of misguided government bureaucracies. The movie succinctly poses and addresses the question “why is this happening in 21st century America?”

Evoking both sympathy and anger for those farmers violently shut down by overzealous government policy and regulators, Farmageddon stresses the urgency of food freedom. Though the film deals with intense scenes and dramatic situations, the overall tone is optimistic, encouraging farmers and consumers alike to take action to preserve individuals’ rights to access food of their choice and farmers’ rights to produce these foods.

  1. This is what happens when we allow our elected representatives to be bribed and the regulatory agencies to be completely controlled by the industries that want to destroy small family farms all in the name of higher profits for themselves, even when it means serious chronic illness and death for the people that eat their nutritionally dead pseudo foods!!!

  2. It's because of the growing popularity of regenerative farming that doesn't require pesticides, so the chemical companies, which give money to the Government, wants to stop the transition, as they see their money revenue drying up. It's also the sort sightedness of Government, as regenerating the soil, means they would save billions on medical treatments. If these authorities are stating that's what they're doing is for the protection of the consumers, then they should be charged with dereliction of duty for allowing the sale of alcohol, cigarettes & tobacco, unnecessary added salt & sugar in foods, which fuels the hypertension & diabetes epidemics, various e-numbers known to cause health hazards etc etc.

  3. It’s disgusting…these poor people watching their livelihoods being poured onto the grass in front of them and they can’t do anything about it.
You’d think they were raising a prostitution ring with their tactics on these farms.

I’m also for decriminalization of drugs though, so what do I know? 😐 People want it, they know the risks (large or small) and it’s up to them to consumed the products.

This is Grade A bullsh*t. Taking someone’s personal food shouldn’t be legal.

  4. Understanding why the collectivisation efforts of Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin lead to the Ukrainian Holodomor's is key to understanding why the owners of our respective Government's don't want people free to produce, buy and sell without their pervasive oversight.

  5. Wow, It is a bad time they are reviling the criminal activities of these regulatory entities. People have to take a stand for their most basic right of our choice of what we want to eat. I don't see them show that much effort in going after pharmaceutical companies or fast food industry as they are killing Americans on daily bases. Thank God as people are waking up and making conscious choices of not buying their products. Time to say good bye to corruption. Complete waste of tax payers money and unconstitutional. We all can make a difference by our action of not buying what USDA or other regulatory entities recommend. Thank you to all the people that produced this movie and to the all the farmers fighting for us.
