Inside a Balinese Royal Wedding: Tradition Meets Modernity | Real Stories – Everything Law and Order Blog

For most mothers, organizing any wedding is stressful enough. But what if you are also an Australian-born Royal Princess and expected to supervise complex Hindu traditions stretching back centuries?

As the first non-Balinese Royal bride, Princess Asri is also the buffer between her daughter-in-law to be and the rest of the Royal family, uncomfortable with the fact that the groom, Asri’s ‘Indo-Aussie son Max, is marrying a famous Indonesian actress, Happy Salma. And Happy’s Muslim family is none too happy about her marrying a Hindu, prince or not…

With unique access to this extraordinary Royal Wedding, the audience travels deep into the heart of the little-known world of Balinese Hinduism as it smacks up against the 21st-century cross-cultural religious divide. Enter into a world of pomp and ceremony, obligations, strictly defined roles, business interests, politics, and intrigue…

  1. Watched another video and the bride paid for the whole thing, to the tune of $250,000.00. Because the royal family couldn’t afford it. Balinese royal families are quite poor.

  2. As a fellow Indonesian I really appreciate and respect other islands culture.
Especially when they prepare offerings to their Gods. Very vibrant and creative 🙏🏽🥰

  3. It's a very very interesting kind of documentary real story of Balinese Royal Wedding, & great thanks for sharing & witnessing the unique tradition customary Royal Wedding. 5. Gue malah gak tau budaya ini..dan gue seneng bisa liat ini dari tv luar… gue harap televisi Indo juga bisa mengangkat budaya kita seperti ini dan dengan gaya yang enak diikuti seperti ini

  6. I love the beautiful of Bali culture portrayed in this wedding ceremony, but as a moslem I wonder how Happy could struggle to be Hindu in the end. It's such a big sacrifice because the differences between both religion are huge. I know it's her choice and I respect it. I just wonder that I couldnt imagine being in her position. Maybe that's why she cried in the video

  7. HE DESERVE BEAUTIFUL LADY MORE THEN HER FOR AS A MEN WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT A MEDIA LADY DOING IN REAL LIFE YEAH NEED TO SAY SHE IS ALREADY USED DAMNNN THE PRINCE GET USED WIFE SORRY TO SAY

  8. Balinese art is so beautiful. The model palace and intricate weaving is amazing. What a wonderful, spiritual culture. As someone who is half Asian and half white, I really admire the royal family.

  9. Magic. Human magic. This music/sound and gorgeous clanging is what l hear almost like it’s actually there in my head sometimes. I don’t know if they’re audio hallucinations but when l hear it l can almost see painted elephants and parades of “attendees”.
