  1. sometimes Karens and their Reviews are a necessity. this is one of those times. Chaos Theory works in weird mysterious ways.

  2. Let's face it hospitality services in the USA is TRASH in general, even worse in States where costs are INSANELY HIGH as is the case of NY.
And when I say trash I mean trash.
Anywhere in the world a hotel that charges 600 USD and above per night, you get great hospitality services, a great room, the works, but in NYC you'll only get some type of decent HS in hotels with 800+ per night a room.
The idea that you have to pay from 1K and above to get good HS services and stay at a nice looking hotel in NYC is ludicrous.
Nowdays, most people are going for Airbnb just because it's a place to sleep, bathe and change, if it's in a safe neighbourhood it will suffice because you will have to get everything regardless of being at a hotel, and it's cheaper and many people travel in groups.
W/that said, it's painful when you have to pay 300+USD for a hotel room in a old hotel, with a musty smell, a small bedroom that doesn't even have a mini fridge to keep your stuff and a questionable bathroom sanitation simply because it's a Marriot (to name one) located in NYC.
I don't care about the 300+ or more if its a good hotel, good conditions, fresh smelling with a DECENT ROOM and bathroom, because I have to pay it anyway.
I can't and won't stay at an Airbnb for security reasons, because women travelers must be always careful where they stay so I always have to pay from almost 400 and above for a so called "good hotel" and the USA is the only country where that money is play money because the hotels are trash no matter what. And the services omg… And the worst food ever.
I can't even begin to explain how terrible it is.
    It's insane.

  3. If you're a New Yorker and don't know that Staten Island is the 5th borough, don't be proud of your ignorance. I hate it when back in the days, other New Yorkers I visited would say, "wait, what!? You have to take a boat home??" Lol 🤦🏾‍♂️

  4. Ain't lyin about Yelp. I've checked it before booking hotels for at least 5 years. The reviews can be hysterical.

  5. Some of these hotels play with customers with misleading descriptions and photographs. If you aren't from that area and aren't very familiar with a particular city, it's easy for hotels to take advantage.

  6. In my hotel searches I even use Google street map just to look around the neighborhood & make sure it’s legit. There are so many tools: IG location post too helps

  7. Common sense didn't prevail with old girl. She didn't google map the MF at least to determine the distance from where she wanted to be???
