  1. Coolant bright liquid, brake master cylinder filled check for leaks, power steering wheel check for dark shi and metal check pump for leak, oil cap check the cap no frothy shi or chocy syrup, oil dip stick filled no frothy or metal shi

  2. >_< had to scrap my old 90s Ford Fiesta as the oil was leaking into the combustion engine – & it did have blue smoke coming out, saw it during the NCT tests (It failed on Carbon emissions testing)! Going to have to keep this in mind for my next car.

  3. Hey Chris thanks for your video this gives me a lot of information since I am going to help my grandson by his first car . I've always my wife's cars a couple years old low mileage and I bought mine low mileage maybe two or three years old and my last work van I'm a carpenter by the way so I needed it closed vehicle but I purchased mine one year old where is hardly any miles and paid cash and I have been driving it for 24 years now and keeping the services up and even servicing the rear end like most people don't do and always service to transmission every 30,000 miles so it's got a lot of miles and it looks pretty rough outside and upholstery from work but it starts every morning and runs really good and I never minded putting on michelin's best rubber for tires so I've kept everything top-notch I'm going to give it to my daughter and my last work van I kept in good shape and drove it 356,000 MI and solve it to another work person and he has driven it for 5,000 miles almost the last time I seen him but I appreciate all this information in your video and I watched your video changing the batteries in the Toyota Prius and that was really fantastic video so your videos are really worth watching have a great day

  4. I'm in absolute need for a used car and been watching these vids over and over and researching cars. But I tried using the NADA link and it went to JDPOWER, and plugged in info but saw nothing like the printout, what am I missing? Would give anything to know a guy like you man lol who taught you all this stuff, you all are car jedi.

  5. When you purchase a used car always plan on fixing something. I have purchased over hundred cars in my life. And every vehicle needed something fixed. Some very minor. Some major like a transmission. But this was when you can replace a transmission for five hundred dollars. So it wasn't a big deal. Now transmissions could cost up to 15 thousand dollars.

  7. Hey Chris, thank you for your informative videos. I want to buy and sell cars but getting confused about whether I need a dealers license or not. How would you go about it, again, thank you so much!

  8. Do you know if a cheaper OBD 2 reader from amazon would work/ The one in the video is $100 which I know isn't much compared to the headache it can save us from, but I wonder if the $30-$40 ones could do the trick? (edit: typo)

  9. Check your fluids. Pull the right front wheel for brake and suspension inspection. After you reinstall the tire jack up the rear. Crawl under, eyeball the exhaust pipe, fuel tank, shocks, etc. scan for codes first. If the codes are clear 30 minute test drive.

  10. I was looking at a gorgeous 2016 Hyundai Sonata hybrid. I took off the oil cap while it was running and there were nearly hurricane force winds coming out of the hole. Then I looked under the cap and saw a creamy white film, not much but definitely the start of a head gasket leak. Thanks Chris Fix for helping me avoid an expensive repair.
