Learn how to replace axle seals on a solid rear axle that is leaking gear oil. You will know the axle seals are bad because gear oil will drip down the tires and sling everywhere. Luckily with this video you can see the process of replacing the axle seals. First you need to drain the differential. Next you need to unscrew the 4 nuts holding in the axle. Then you need to use a slide hammer to pop the axle out and now you have access to the seal. Use a seal puller tool to pop the seal out and then drive the new one in with a large socket or a seal driver tool. Now would be a good time to replace the rear wheel bearing as well and to do that you need to cut the bearing in half to remove it and then use a pipe with a hammer (or a hydraulic press) to press the new one on.

  1. This was a fun, helpful collab with Donut and thank you Craftsman for coming in clutch with overnighting the tools I needed to make the repair! As you guys saw, I have moved to a new driveway and it's been pretty challenging to move over 1000mi away, all by myself. I hope to get back on track with consistent videos in the new place in the next couple months or so. I'm still sleeping on a blow up bed but my tools and cars are here so time to unpack and get the ball rolling. The new place will hopefully allow me to make videos more efficiently so more content for you guys!!! I appreciate all the supportive comments and the continued patience! This year has been a tough one!!!

  2. “Not easy to find” yeah I’ve had that same problem with a lot of my cars. Junk yards are great but sometimes you’ve just gotta make it work lmao

  3. One thing about Chrisfix he never got to worry about walking the mind is a terrible thing to waste he never let his mind go to waste knowing cars.!

  4. I was told the rear differential on my 2012 nissan frontier 4×4 is slightly leaking. Are there any seals you would recommend changing or should i just changw the fluid?

  5. idk if you do have a video on this but how would you catch problems in a car without the obvious signals from the car itself, you know some mechanical issues that might need fixing not easily caught by random car owners

  6. hey chris i’m a massive massive fan. I am 16 from the UK. I am trying to convince my dad to let me get a miata this summer that we can both work on as a father son project this summer. He wrote it off completely as soon as I said it and said he dosent want a leaky rust bucket on his drive (we don’t have a garage). What should I say?

  7. Here's my situation I just moved to Manitowac Wisconsin january 19 2024 from Kenosha Wisconsin my apartment caught on fire it was my fault I was living month to month there I came in from work at the time and was tired i ended up putting chicken on the stove cooking I went into my bedroom and dozed off to sleep but when I woke up I had smoke in my lungs I couldn't see fire spread quickly threw out the apartment my eyes was burning I ran out of the apartment in my underwear no one in the building was hurt I didn't have renters insurance that's where I messed up at my apartment was completely destroyed I lost everything I lost sentimental pictures of my father who was murdered back in 2013 that I can never get back so the owner of the building asked me to leave due to it being a accident so no charges was placed on me which was a blessing
So when all that happened I had no where to go my buddy and his wife said that I could move to manitowac Wisconsin with them until I get back on my feet they have a 5 bedroom house and there kids are adults and out of the house so I said ok on January 31 they told me they wanted there space I'm thinking to myself you told me to move to a remote town I know nothing about then you tell me less then two weeks to leave I respectfully left and moved into a hotel where I'm currently staying at now the econo lodge here in manitowac February 1 I ended up getting a temp job because the hotel charges 483 a week which is alot and my check I only made 565 after taxes i didn't have much to work with the company I was working for threw the temp agency ended up letting me go and 5 other people they didn't need the help anymore so now my situation is im tryna see how im gonna come with the rent i have no family im all alone in this town i have a 98 blazer that needs repair and it runs but barely need money for that and rent if I could pay up the rent for a couple months the would truly help me a lot
