Learn how to replace an intake manifold and intake manifold gaskets in your car or truck. I am upgrading my intake manifold from a non PI intake to a PI performance intake which will hopefully add some Horsepower and Torque! I also show you how to install a water pump, and how to tap the intake port for a coolant temperature sensor.

  1. I really admire the work you put in all the videos. I check for your new videos almost daily and always wonder what takes you so long. Everytime I see the new video I'm like "okay, this was worth waiting". The work you have to put in repairing the car and in addition to that, the work you have to put in moving and placing the camera so every bolt you touch is visible for the viewer and finally editing the video the way you do it (every transition, every splitscreen, all the bolts to mark and these things you do with graphs) must take hours and hours. I really appreciate it and hope that you'll keep doing such a great videos. Even though I don't even have a car, I always enjoy your videos, so one day I buy myself a car, i can do it at home just because of you. Thank you!

  2. Hey gotta question will this intake work on a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis with the 4.6 just from the look of it, it will but I don’t wanna spend that much money and it be wrong

  3. This video helped me a lot I got my 1997 mercury cougar with the 4.6 almost the exact same engine set up I got it fixed up thank you for this video keep doing what you are doing g you are clearly good at it

  4. I can't wait until you do the throttle body swap, and after the throttle body i would like to see the difference when you replace the cylinder heads with performance and then do a supercharger or whatever power adder you want. I love the videos and please keep up the good work

  5. thanks for the tip with the oring and silicone grease chriss, I need this for my pressure sensor switch oring, fkin thing keeps gettignpinched even with 6nm

  6. Hey Chris – now that the Ford Performance PI manifold is sadly discontinued and sold out everywhere, is the conversion still worth doing with the not so great options out there on an NPI motor or should I just do a cheap npi replacement? Just replaced the plugs and wires in my ‘98 and had dried up coolant in a couple of the wells. Thanks in advance whether you get to this or not – picked her up recently to finally learn manual on, almost a carbon copy of yours in laser red. Couldn’t ask for a better car to wrench on with your tutorials lol

  7. Hey I know this is an older video but wondering if anyone knows if the OPR PI intake manifold works for this swap. Now that Ford isn't making these anymore and I now have a leak. 96 GT.
Had to come back and edit–Or even better the new Ford PI they just released. Well I actually picked that one up and will be giving it a go. Haven't seen anybody making those vids yet. Maybe too early since they just dropped.

  8. Hey Chris did the intake you bought have gaskets it came with as well, or did you just have the two one piece head/ intake gaskets. Most intake manifolds seem to come with the gaskets on the intake already but I’m trying to avoid that.

  9. I looked at that intake and thought yeah Ford Modular Engine. I've stared at my 97 F150's Triton V8 enough. Only thing this doesn't have is the CHT sensor under the thermostat housing. Well that and actually being able to get to the back sparkplugs.

  10. I know this video is a few years old, but what's up with the intake in the thumbnail it looks different from the
one you installed, is it defective or inferior cause that's the I bought for my '97 Tbird?
