Learn how to replace rusty leaf springs, shackles, and leaf spring mounting brackets in your truck or suv. I also show how to replace leaf spring bushings and remove the rust and undercoat the frame of your vehicle. We lift the truck in the process by using Chevy/Dodge lowering shackles which fit the Ford Ranger/Mazda B-Series trucks.

  1. I hope you guys are ready for what I have been working on… It's going to be an epic next few months. That's all I gotta say about that.
    Also daily updates here: Instagram.com/ChrisFixit
And what did you think of my new shirt/design I was wearing at the end? Want one?
Make sure you hit that notification bell so you can get updates when I post the next YouTube videos!!!

  2. Hey @chrisfix, where do you get the center mounting plate from? I have an 06 ranger and oem it's discontinued and I can't find any aftermarket ones

  3. All good except for the part of replacing the leaf spring bushings, leaf springs are usually 5160 steel and that steel has an specific heat treatment process. By heating the steel you're messing with that treatment and the leaf spring can fail.

  4. WOW that rust reformer completely transformed the frame. I don’t know much about cars but I’m learning and wow this video was epic. Great job.

  5. I drove my truck for at last a couple months. I had no idea the leaf spring on the drives side shackle had broken. My buddy just happen to point out my bed had a bump in it about the size of a baseball. It was just like that rigth up against the bed of the truck.

  6. I'm glad I found this channel. Recently bought a Dodge Aspen that will need quite some work this winter. And honestly, it's a slightly less daunting task now.

  7. What we’re the exact shackles I want to buy them as well for my B4000 and how much lift height can they give for the rear ?
