  1. i always hated drum brake systems … especially that era when cars had disc calipers in the front, but drums in the rear … soooo infuriating, thanksully now all my cars are new enough to all have disc brakes!

  2. Another great video, helped me with my 1st attempt at brake drums on my '78 c10 squarebody. Question though, what should I look for as my emergency brake light is now on after brake job…???

  3. This is my first time working on my truck myself 😂 after reading comments and watching some videos, I can see it's going to be fun.

  4. Hey Chris, I noticed you placed a bucket underneath the wheel when cleaning it with brake cleaner. Where did you dispose all that gunk and used brake cleaner ? Is it safe to toss it in a patch of dirt or do we have to recycle it at an auto parts store like you would with used oil???

  5. Thank you so much for this video😭my friend has been changing the shoes on my dad's old truck for a month….. thanks to this video he got it🙏🏽🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🥳🥳🥳

  6. After replacing all that and while testing by hand it had zero friction until i took it for a drive where theres grinding under acceleration and popping noises. Any idea what could be going wrong?

  7. Is the last step at 20:00 necessary? If there's no resistance, won't the adjuster click as you press on your brakes? Doing mine this week wish me luck 🤞

  8. For folks that have Rangers/Mazda B Series – he has 10" rear brakes which have link arms coming from the wheel cylinder to contact the shoe. If you have a Ranger with 9" brakes (like me) your shoes contact the wheel cylinder and do not use l links. I was going crazy trying to find the link pins he describes for my truck. Turns out there are none 🫡

  9. I’m very happy he made this video, I just bought a 99 ranger and today my rear passenger drum just started leaking break fluid all over everything and when I took the drum off it was pretty much destroyed underneath so this is going to help me assemble it back

  10. Took my car to the shop, quoted me $1500 for a rear drum brake job. Spent $250 on brake parts & did it myself instead thanks to you!

  11. hey ChrisFix when will the conversion video be out? would love to switch out my rear drum breaks on my 2012 ford fiesta but I don't trust myself enough haha
And I absolutely love the videos they're amazing you're 100% one of my fav yt channels

  12. You really shouldn’t use a metal sledge on the brake drums. I recommend a rubber mallet instead: It’ll ensure you don’t dent the drum, but still does the job.
