Today AWP began our search for 66-year-old Annie Lee Hampton who was last seen October 10, 2019 in Marianna, Arkansas driving her 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Starting our day at 9:00, Jacob Grubbs and his team from Chaos Divers met up with AWP, to begin our search.
The first location searched was the river nearest her home with no success.
The second location was Bear Creek Reservoir where we were able to identify a vehicle 29′ underwater using sonar.
Doug Bishop and Jacob Grubbs dove on the vehicle, pulling the Arkansas License plate 342 737 matching Annie’s missing Grand Prix.
The vehicle was upside down, 85′ from shore, 29′ underwater.
The local Sheriff, Police Department and State Park Rangers arrived on the scene and prior to 2 pm, through the efforts of all organizations working together, the vehicle in question was removed, confirming human remains inside.
A full autopsy will need to be conducted before confirmation can be made that Annie has been brought home.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Annie’s family during this difficult time.
We will have a full edit of our search and recovery efforts available in the next few weeks.
Hug the ones you love for you never know when it might be the last time you see them.

It is not a treasure hunt in the FL Keys. You're talking about sorrow, regret, neglect, HUMAN BEINGS.
There are some really mean, nasty ppl out there, just looking for their own, selfish glory.
I've seen & listened to the way you (all) talk with the families…it's so respectful, and at the same time you're giving the families updates throughout your dives.
You guys (& girl's) have a ton of knowledge.
I want to see community training (local college). Not to wear you out, but maybe like a pre-recorded zoom class, with credits.
(Like the vid you did with how to get out of your car in an emergency.) Anyone else like that idea?

These guys need some kind of award. Their innovative and original enterprise has single-handed recovered many many missing loved ones. Some missing decades. I remember a lot of them from my many years on earth.
