Missing without a trace… Steven MacKrell was last seen on July 30, 2015, buying snacks at a Valero gas station in the 3600 block of North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach, Florida at 2:32 a.m.

Outside the gas station, MacKrell had an altercation with an unidentified African-American man who was a passenger in a silver sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier or Malibu.

The incident lasted only seconds and was caught on CCTV surveillance. The car was seen following MacKrell as he drove away, never be seen again.

This video documents Adventures With Purpose’s search for Steven MacKrell, using the clues left behind with an emphasis on the AWP’s 5-mile search strategy.

CASE DETAILS
Steven MacKrell left Lucky’s Tavern at 1:30 a.m., got into his car on west Las Olas Boulevard, and drove north on Northwest Seventh Avenue.

He was supposed to meet friends and then go out afterward, but he never arrived there.

After the altercation caught on CCTV camera at the Valero gas station, Steven has never been heard from again.

His car, a white four-door 2013 Ford Fusion with a missing rim on the front driver’s side and the license plate number WJ70L, is also missing.

He had had about five drinks at Lucky’s Tavern and may have been intoxicated at the time of his disappearance.

At the time of his disappearance, MacKrell worked as a professional casino poker dealer.

Steven has never been away from the South Florida area.

Since he went missing, his phone hasn’t been turned on and his debit card has not been used.

MacKrell left behind a baby daughter.

Foul play is possible in his case, which remains unsolved.

  1. Seems if you were soooo serious about your job. …. You and ur company are distracted with all of you. Recording ur every move!!!
Get the camera off and get busy!!!!!!! Seems ur more conserved about ur video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. All the money spent on fusion cameras for municipalities it just seems ridiculous that they can't catch plate numbers or details

  3. I just joined the team! I absolutely love what you guys do! Makes me wanna help… if you guys have any literature on what you do I would love to share with all the local police/sheriff’s offices around here. In Louisiana we have so many water ways… rivers lakes bayous and so forth.
Thats not even considering the Gulf of Mexico. I’m positive your services would be a blessing to this area! Please let me know how to receive any of your info!
May Gods angels surround and protect you all. You are truly His hands on earth touching the lives of so many families bringing them answers. God bless you all!

  4. The comment that cars found upside down are pushed vs cars driving in are upright. Is this accurate?

  5. I live this collaboration with "Guardians for the Missing." Teak Work makes the Dream Work! Doug is amazing as always and I love this young man's mother's insight. Everyone here is amazing. Keep going! 💪🏾💛🙏🏾

  6. What the woman said…makes me think of the case with Keily Rodny…found upside down push…drive fast..upright…

  7. I think that other person did it. He got mad that he threw the can . And they argued and things got out of hand. Some people just make something out of nothing. Things got out of hand and he murdered him. Just my gut feeling

  8. He was seen on surveillance "bouncing" in the store aisles. I am assuming he was a bit drunk, only to get in an "altercation" with a random person, outside of the store. Wonder if the police would be able to track down that car that "followed" him? I mean they did find bullet holes in Steven's car when they found it.

  9. Look at all the work, the searching that goes into a result we hope for. They don't find everyone they look for. They often clear out the waters of leaking vehicles which is a public service, or find stolen vehicles which helps local law enforcement. More than one purpose is served when they search. At a minimum they give love and support to people who think, in spite of all the efforts ALREADY given, that officials have "abandoned them". Even though sometimes it is those very officials who call on AWP or others to help. Praying for all who were touched by this today.

  10. Sometimes Jared and Doug remind me to be kind to people. They have kind souls. Jared has made me cry a few times.

The first 5 episodes I watched randomly this week (new fan) did not have a recovery. Then watching the recoveries I cried. The Torres family, whose mom left drunk. I lived my teens with my mom drinking, one time telling me she went to the Oakland Bay Bridge to jump off. I could feel their pain, and suspect I know about guilt- shoulda, coulda, woulda.

I did not know so many people drove off boat ramps intentionally.

    Keep up the good work.

  11. I pray you get your own TV Show! The WORLD & I are so appreciative of you for taking your precious time to search the waters for the missing. Please know you are loved & we pray you keep giving closure to these families! Love & Peace Always!
