It’s never easy having conversations with families, telling them you’ve done all you could to help them find their missing loved ones, knowing they’re underwater nearby.
It’s been said that if you miss them by a few inches, you might as well have missed them by miles.
Our search for Jose takes place 6-days after he drowned in the Sandy River just outside of Troutdale, Oregon.
That same week, a total of 7 drownings took place in lakes and rivers throughout Oregon.
With murky waters and hidden cave systems, it made our search very difficult in our hopes of finding and bringing Jose home to his family.
This documentary provides a glimpse of the sonar search techniques and diving Adventures With Purpose brings to the waters in hopes of helping families find their lost loved ones.
Hug the ones you love for you never know when it might be the last time you see them.
The AWP Movement would not be possible without your support, helping us travel the US offering our services for FREE to families searching for their lost loved ones… Thank you!
We’ll be hitting the road on Sept 17th for a 44-day cross-country road trip, working 27 Cold Cases, searching for 36 missing people.

Was he ever recovered? Or any of these people at that time??
I couldn’t find a victim ten feet in front of me. Another time, there was a storm during the night and I found him near the bank. Weird thing was, I knew exactly who he was as he was a friends brother who fell through the ice the winter before.
Im happy he was found and brought home. Jared and Doug and the crew it is true with the currents. Ive swam many of years in the great pee dee on family outings and one day i decided to help my little sister across the sand bar one min we were walking on sand next our father was pulling us both out. I have never took my kids around water without vest. It was terrifying trying to save my sister first and my self if my father didnt look when he did he would have lost us both that day. You cant find everyone you set out to help but you helped while you were there. 💙â¤
You are all so loved and appreciated. You all do everything humanly possible to bring the family members home.
I'm a new subscriber and it doesn't take long to see how committed you all are to the families and the cause. God bless you all.
Thank u guys! At least he was found thank God!
I know some people have an ego problem with life jackets.
But just know i think you look handsome/beautiful in a life jacket. 😉
You two are doing great! Estimating and calculating every theory possible!
Your great!
Bet he will be found soon!!
Do you have a good drone to search shallow areas?
Too bad in these areas they could post a guard and find them if they don’t abide from a rule set by official for Life Jackets!! My thoughts
When you get discouraged after a long day without a successful completion of your day's mission, please remember that just your videos of the searches are so full of information and instruction to help those who are inspired to follow your lead and join the movement. So not only are you excluding tragic possibilities to their loved ones but you are educating others to do the same. That can't possibly be deemed a "failure", can it? 💙
I think the word is anticipation
Jared and Doug your amazing love watching be safe god bless you all
9/11/2010, my Lil Cousin drowned. Our county dive team would not dive because their Sonar showed nothing. My Aunt hired a dive team and what Sacramento County dive team wouldn't do, the Davis county dive team found my Cousin in 4hrs 14ft down in the same spot he was last seen. His shorts were snagged on a branch. They saw him on his hands and knees position. He was lost for 18 whole days!! (California) You guys are awesome!!
You guys are awesome xoxo Tara from Flint township Michigan
I LOVE WATCHING YOU GUYS ,YOU DO A GREAT JOB ! YOUR ALL SO AMAZING, KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK !
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
🤗â¤ï¸ðŸ‘
I love the Sandy, Clackamas & Columbia Rivers they are all so beautiful !! Even though they are all beautiful they ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS !! I remember that a friend of my older sister's & older brother's drowned in Estacada,Oregon back in the early 1980's..Thankfully she was found RIP MARY..Just a side note..I was born & raised in Oregon..
caves could be a large fish tookhim down
No matter what he died there, if you didn't find him he has went down stream. Remember bones don't disappear. His body is in that river.
I love watching you guys work, you really are a Godsend. Keep safe, love to you all for what you are doing, giving the families closure is so special, one way or another
Take care
Thanks!
I love the hats Jared wears!!
Flys are attracted to
the stench from dead
animals or human remains.
You guys were funny on top of the RV!! On a stressful day you made me laugh! Thanks!
So did you do camera work for that foe Sheriff /Bond guy? So is he a Sheriff for real? I would think hes not allowed to impersonate an officer Just curios
They might appreciate an award but I'll bet they',d prefer a grant of money to help them help others. Money is better than a plaque on the wall.
Thank you guys for spending time searching for the missing loved one. Please be safe.
Ya'll shouldn't be diving on caves with only one diver in the water. You should always have (2) two divers working together when there are caves to make sure everyone stays safe (and alive)!
Watching this one I had a thought. You need a more sensitive sonar to get that one that will FIND bodies. Reach out to Elon Musk for engineering software or a new sonar. He is a genius with software plus he is so aware of improving the environment. Someone somewhere is smart enough to do this. God bless.
Jared you are right on target saying WEAR A LIFEJACKET when you are in large bodies of water not being able to swim well. This is something I have done for many years even in a swimming pool. Never have I felt strong enough to save myself in water. Thank you for being the teacher, recoverer, etc. God bless you and your team.
Jesus is showing you the way . He's your biggest support system
My question is "Why didn't the family go into the water. and look for him?"
We were walking next to a shallow, rocky crystal clear creek… no more than 3 feet wide. My mom slipped from the rocks above and slid down into the creek. She slip into a deep pocket to her hip and was stuck. We were able after several long minutes to free her. If it was any deeper, I know we wouldn't have saved her in time. It freaked us all because that creek was about a foot deep the whole way. What if Jose just happened to slip in a deep pocket just his width unable to surface right at the spot they last saw him?
As a paramedic who has been on too many recoveries, I LOVE that y’all ALWAYS use and promote life jackets.
Are you going to do an update of ALL the missing persons that you looked for but couldn't find ? I would love to see this every month as I am guessing all your subscribers would love too ! Thank you
