MISSING FAMILY: It’s now been 44-years since Leslie Guthrie disappeared with her two children, Timothy and Julie, from Katonah, New York at 1:30 p.m. on February 5, 1977, driving a white 1974, 300-series Ford Maverick, with a green roof and the New York license plate number 636-WNA.
The Guthrie Family has never been heard from again.

CASE DETAILS
In 1977, Leslie Guthrie (29) picked up her two children, Timothy who was 3-years-old at the time, and Julie, who was 5-years-old from their father’s home on Grandview Avenue in Katona, New York around 1:30 P.M. on February 5.
Leslie was separated from the children’s father, Timothy Sr., and living with her mother in White Plains, New York, but she and Timothy Sr. had an amicable relationship.
Leslie was supposed to pick up her mother later that day from IBM in White Plains, NY where her mother worked but never arrived.
Timothy Sr. wasn’t concerned when Leslie didn’t return that evening because he assumed she and the children had spent the night in White Plains.
He reported them missing the following evening at 6:00 p.m. on February 6.
Authorities have ruled out Timothy Sr. as a suspect in Leslie, Julie, and Timothy Jr.’s cases;
Timothy Sr. has cooperated fully with the investigation and also hired a private investigator and spent considerable time and money trying to locate his family himself.
He has since left the state of New York.
There were no indications that Leslie had planned to walk out of her life; she hadn’t taken any clothing or personal belongings with her and didn’t withdraw any substantial sum of money from her bank account prior to her disappearance.
Her mother died in 1994; in her obituary, it says Leslie survived her.
The circumstances of the Guthrie family’s disappearance are unclear, and their vehicle has never been recovered.

You have to take into account that in 1977, a woman losing custody meant something significant, the woman had to be completely unfit. I am not talking about something little, but something big.

Love watching you work. I don't know if anyone will read this, but I just watched your video on the Guthrie family and I'd like to offer some information. I live in Wisconsin, which has similar weather to New York. You may or may not have thought of this already. In February, especially after a cold January, the lake ice is thick enough to drive on. Sometimes a car could go off the highway and NOT break through. Of course, with the embankment, you would never get back on the road. However, someone who knew where a boat ramp was, or had a friend who lived on the lake MIGHT try to drive across the lake – until they encountered a soft spot. I'm think this could mean you have a lot more water to search. Good luck. Oh, and by the way, is Josh Cantu related to Willie Cantu, by chance.

You guys should not assume that if she was on the freeway that you have not checked, that someone would have seen an accident. Are there bodies of water coming off of the other route?
I have watched so many of these videos and this morning my daughter and I went out to the largest lake in Kansas and was so meaningful after watching there. She has a magnet like is used here just wish I had a boat and sonar but just throwing it in the lake felt good. God Bless you guys. 💜

one thing to consider when searching for vehicles that came up missing in winter, the snow plows push the snow from the road up against the guard rails, which make a slick ramp that will allow cars to slide right over the rail because the packed snow usually is packed up over or the same height as the rail that would normally stop a vehicle from going over. I live in Texas and cars fly over guard rails every winter here because the snow plows push the snow bank up against the rails which makes a smooth, slick ramp over the rails.
