The Nguyen family was last seen on April 19, 2002, the day after they left home when a police officer stopped Stephanie in her car, a green 1997 Nissan Pathfinder with the Ohio license plate number ADH7739, near a boat ramp to the Ohio River.

The officer stopped her for failing to dim her headlights and noticed two children, presumably Kristina and John, asleep in the backseat of the vehicle.

Stephanie left behind notes for her husband and parents saying her failed marriage had driven her to death and she was going to kill herself and her children by driving into the Ohio River near the Grand Victoria Casino.

She disappeared along with her two children, Kristina and John.

The officer was the last person to have seen Stephanie and her 2 children alive.

This documentary brings you alongside Adventures With Purpose’s search in Rising Sun, Indiana, following clues about Stephanie’s last known location near the boat ramp, not far from the Grand Victoria Casino where Stephanie worked.

You’ll witness the search performed by AWP on that day and how Stephanie’s vehicle was located in this documentary.

Stephanie’s car was found in the Ohio River near Aurora, Indiana. There was a human bone inside the vehicle, and the bone was identified as Stephanie’s in January 2022.

There was no indication as to the whereabouts of either of the children, however, and it’s not clear whether they were in fact in the car when it went into the river.

Hug the ones you love for you never know when it might be the last time you see them.

  1. When you have depression set in your mind. You can't think outside the box. The only thing you think about is getting rid of the depression. I have been down this horrible road before. The best thing I have done before is tell my adult son. The next day it's goes away after talking about it. There's been times the same day he's said "Mom I think it's time for you to take a break from life for a few days". I get put into the hospital or a crisis bed which your not in the hospital but can keep your cellphone and still get a few groups in day but scaled down. You can leave when you feel your ready. Do you have depression and don't know where to go?? Call your local mental health center they should have a crisis Hot line to call, they will talk to you and even come out to your home and make a plan for you. I know more crisis centers have beds and if they don't, they can help you find one for you. I hope someone reads this and can maybe think twice before taking their life!!

  2. My heart and prays ourWith these two men that are doing such an amazing missionary work and also the families I’ve never lost anyone like that and I can’t even imagine

  3. I have thought of suicide, before big time ,and never would I have ever taken another person life while doing it. Am I judging her I guess ,because those children had people that would take care of them, so why take them

  4. I am gonna ask a silly question but the tarp over the vehicle is just if a body is inside or if belongings are in the vehicle and basically trying to keep items from falling out of the vehicle

  5. These men are so kind and professional. I've been watching them a while now and the respect they have and just that attitudes is amazing. I'm honestly not used to that. My ex-husband is a complete narcissist LOL I just want to give credit where credit is due. It's nice to see Good Men still in this world doing good things!

  6. If I'm going to take my life I'm not trying to do it slowly I can't even imagine taking any child's like, but wtf? You committed suicide by drowning?

  7. The world truly needs more people like you guys! You guys do this for free and don’t offer your services for money to exploite these families in their grief instead you do this for the cause of the families who need closure and answers and you give them the closure they need to be able to move on and come to terms with these terrible cases.

    Thank you AWP!

  8. Unfortunately, the Ohio has a history of murder and suicide. Ohio has some incredible and deceptively dangerous bodies of water. Please, especially if you are swimming in Lake Erie or any of the rivers safe.

  9. Such a shame.. not fair to kids. I understand depression and helplessness feelings yet soooo sad to take 2 innocent kids. Just a total sad story 😞 😢

  10. What people don't realize and I've read it in several of the comments now is that they say it's one thing to take your own life but why would you murder your children or other loved ones. You need to understand that mental illness is a cruel and twisted master. It obliterates sensible thought, it obliterates common sense, it lies to you and twists your mind until you're not even recognizable to yourself. It's not a person's normal, healthy, conscious thought that motivates them to do this. It's a terrible and severe illness. There's no reasoning with somebody at this level of mental illness anymore. I don't even think Medical Science truly understands any of it 100% And A lot of people lose the battle with it despite years of trying. We need to have compassion for the victims…and that includes the one who performed the tragic act.
