The Space Shuttle Columbia disaster was a fatal incident in the United States space program that occurred on February 1, 2003, when the Space Shuttle Columbia (OV-102) disintegrated as it reentered the atmosphere, killing all seven crew members.

In this episode of Adventures with Purpose, we travel to Nacogdoches, Texas from Oregon in search of any remnants of the Space Shuttle Columbia which crashes over Texas upon reentry in Feb 2003.

Parts of the space shuttle have been found on the family farm and it’s been rumored that after seeing a 20-foot section of lily pads uprooted and turned over with a new mud island being pushed up in the pond, that there may just be a few more pieces of the space shuttle not yet recovered.

  1. This place looks like the location they filmed , creature from the black lagoon. Where’s Dan 🤣🤣🤣😱😱😱 is dan really coming back. TFS. It’s good for you guys to take a break in between the serious stuff. Great job as always.

  2. This was a national tragedy with lives lost and you guys are acting like you are searching for a leprechauns treasure. Disrespectful and disgusting behavior.

  3. I was working at MFF building at Kennedy Space Center when I was 16yo. That was a sad day on the Cape. everything was shutdown soon after. Columbia was a beautiful Ship.

  4. hes speaking about a space shuttle being blown up while hes laughing as if this is a laughing matter where 6 people died and then jumps into promoting his sponsors . They may be doing some goog things finding people and while it does do good for families that may need answers . But when i see them capatolizing to the extremes now it seems theyre intensions is more about the $$$

  5. Why is everybody laughing, smiling and giggling so much, this was a tragic event. And everybody in this video is all excited and giddy and jumping for joy over finding a piece of a broken space shuttle where 7 crew members died. I can't even watch the whole thing. SMH 😡

  6. This is so cool. I live in Lufkin Tx right beside Nacogdoches. I lived on HWY 59 and was in bed when it happened. I woke up to my sister running into my room hollering sister were under attack and i heard the loud3st roaring sound that got louder and louder. The house was actually shaking. I said what do you mean were under attack. She done thought aliens done came and was all around us. She turns on tv and we found out it was the shuttle. It was a very sad time.

  7. The thin bit of metal strip that Sam found is for in-between th doorways of the house for when two bits of carpet meet up and separated the living room from the hallway

  8. Not so funny really is it. You know with those poor people who train so hard for most of their most of their adult lives for a chance to go on the shuttle.
They knew that there was some danger, but with so many successful flights, and they were on their way home, it was a complete surprise I'm sure. I wonder how much time they had to sit there and wait for it.
Sorry that is what crossed my mind. I do the understand that you are not finding a corpse that day, so have a laugh you deserve it
    A old fart woman

  9. A former professor of mine lost her son – Capt. William McCool. I was shopping and looked up at a TV monitor and saw we lost them and I knew he was on it. Heartbreaking.
