We found Richard Ritz (Missing Person) underwater in his Toyota 4-Runner who had been missing 9-months earlier in September 2020. One of the clues we had to go off of was that Richard was last seen at 501 N Lombard and the statement he had made.

“If I ever go missing, just know that I’m on a really long fishing trip”

Armed with that information, our team chose Cathedral Park Boat Ramp as our first place to search where we identified 4 targets underwater using sonar.

Two of the targets looked fresh on sonar, while the other two we could tell had been buried in the silt, indicating a much longer time underwater in the 10-20 year period.

We suited up to scuba dive on all 4 targets, however, the first vehicle we chose turned out to the vehicle in question, finding the Toyota 4-Runner upside down, along with a matching license plate.

Once identified as Richard’s vehicle, this becomes a crimes scene, calling 911, standing back, and offering our services if they need assistance.

With a very competent dive team, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team took over, recovering Richard from the 4-Runner and bringing answers to the family that evening the family so desperately needed these past 9-months.

=============
Richard Ritz, 74, was last seen in September of 2020 leaving a bar in the 9500 block of North Lombard Street.

Richard Ritz described as a white man with a short fu-manchu-style mustache. He stands approximately 6-feet-1-inch tall and weighs around 160 pounds.

Police said Ritz was last seen wearing khaki pants, a red plaid flannel shirt, a Lakers baseball cap, and black tennis shoes. He has several tattoos, including “HATE” on his right knuckles and “LOVE” on his left knuckles.

It was believed that Ritz may had been living in his vehicle, which is a matte-black 1999 Toyota 4Runner SUV with Oregon license 716GPE. Previously, police said the license plate was CK65017, but officers later updated the information.

Ritz was known to frequent St. Johns, Sauvie Island, and Scappoose, according to law enforcement.

  1. 22:03 he's not contributing to anything …. plate carrier doesn't fit.. has a local show up which is why these cases go unsolved… the local police are trash.

  2. After watching so many videos over the years, it still amazes me how many pizzing contests y'all end up in with the local law. I mean, did I seriously just watch Jared get left hanging for a handshake by ALL of the dive team?
I hope by now, with y'all's growing popularity, you're treated with the respect and gratitude you deserve!

  3. I felt the way they towed his vehicle out was kinda disrespectful. I know Jeremy's crew would of done a much better job. They never would of let personal items from the car float around. Just wasn't necessary.

  4. Why why don’t these police except help it’s crazy if a crime all evidence gone so sad , their needs to be a protocol for all recovery’s of lost people in water thanks boys keep safe

  5. That email sounds so sad 😞

I like how you're teaching us along the way 📖

The "older" ones are much more clear on the sonar 🚗

Yo, it's Sam Sam the Adventure Man 👨

    So many under there….. 🚗🚘🚔🏎🚓🚕 🚚🛻🚛🚒

They have their own Dive Team – nice 👍

Maybe you'll find more missing folks with cars in Portland and all over 👪

So so glad you helped this family and all families 👪 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 ❤️ Many families don't get the assistance they deserve from the police 😢💙

  6. The Garmin sonar is all a person needs to go fishing 😄😄 you can see the and probably what kind of fish it is!
Wow wouldn't this be awesome to go fishing all you need now is a boat that's a pretty good cool idea

  7. God Bless Amen 🙏 🫂🤲😢🍀😇🙌❤️💙❤️💙🐞💜💛💚👏🙌🌷🌹💕🌷👼🌸🕊🍀🍀😢❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙🐞

  8. why not leave the body in the vehicle until after its pulled out? it seems like it would just come apart trying to remove it ..

  9. “Love was tattooed on one of mr. ritz’s hand and on the pier where he was located a sign for “love” was shown.

  10. So on a new car that's almost all plastic do they use an anchor to hook it ? Cuz a magnet wouldn't work unless it's upside down maybe?
