â–º Emerald Warrior is a U.S. Special Operations Command sponsored mission rehearsal exercise during which joint special operations forces train to respond to real and emerging worldwide threats.
â–º The Lockheed AC-130 gunship is a heavily armed, long-endurance ground-attack variant of the C-130 Hercules transport fixed-wing aircraft. It carries a wide array of anti-ground oriented weapons that are integrated with sophisticated sensors, navigation, and fire-control systems. Unlike other military fixed-wing aircraft, the AC-130 relies on visual targeting. Because its large profile and low operating altitudes (around 7,000 ft) make it an easy target, it usually flies close air support missions at night.

this plane became a legend when the modern warfare storyline was lifted back from call of duty 4.
People tend to focus on all the firepower this thing has but it was those cameras (and the guys running them) that really made it the GOAT. Most of the time getting air support meant a lot of dicking around back and forth to get everything set up. With these things half the time you'd ask for something and they'd already have seen what you were talking about and be set up and ready to go. The A-10 was the only fixed wing aircraft that even came close in terms of "user friendliness", at least in my limited experience.
