The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a family of single-seat, single-engine, all-weather stealth multirole fighters undergoing final development and testing by the United States. The fifth generation combat aircraft is designed to perform ground attack and air defense missions. The F-35 has three main models: the F-35A conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL) variant, the F-35B short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant, and the F-35C carrier-based Catapult Assisted Take-Off But Arrested Recovery (CATOBAR) variant.

● F-35A, conventional take off and landing (CTOL) variant.
● F-35B, short-take off and vertical-landing (STOVL) variant.
● F-35C, carrier-based CATOBAR (CV) variant.

The F-35 does not need to be physically pointing at its target for weapons to be successful. Sensors can track and target a nearby aircraft from any orientation, provide the information to the pilot through their helmet (and therefore visible no matter which way the pilot is looking), and provide the seeker-head of a missile with sufficient information. Recent missile types provide a much greater ability to pursue a target regardless of the launch orientation, called “High Off-Boresight” capability. Sensors use combined radio frequency and infra red (SAIRST) to continually track nearby aircraft while the pilot’s helmet-mounted display system (HMDS) displays and selects targets; the helmet system replaces the display-suite-mounted head-up display used in earlier fighters. Each helmet costs $400,000.

  1. The falcon in the video would be perfect for making an AI flight pathing program. If it had array of spacing to brother or sister jets to center it's real time positioning. Just clocking 10 g turns is a super power in my opinion. People can use AI as shields too. They don't need weapons lol

They can use the dummy craft as a fishing lure, in true Naval fashion……….air force people.

  2. I thank President Obama for pushing our military into the 5th and 6th generation of fighter power. If Republicans had their way, we would still be using P-51's.

  3. The folly of using a fragile and limited capability air-frame like this for ground attack is self evident….

  4. Britain has bought 138 of these jets from Lockheed Martin but are in stages of development of their own, game-changing Tempest jet that will supposedly render today's fighters "last-generation." Do you think that Britain is expecting a war against a country where the latest fighter jets are needed, before the Tempest is serviceable or do you think that purchasing 138 fighter planes from another country is just to show loyalty to an allied nation?

  5. Could I use parts of this footage on a no monetized You Tube video I'm working on about war aircrafts?
    It'd be so helpful.
    Coresponding credits will be given.
    Thanks in advance for replying.

  6. I'd say USA is not good in many things and can learn from Europe. But this thing… this is what us Europeans can learn from the USA.
Long live NATO. May it never go down. The two richest continents together.

  7. It's such a piece of shit. At this moment American authority's just told us it will cost half a billion more for 38 planes fat useless things only good for high altitude bombing. For all yanks here they showed how they didn't give Sweden exact information while running simulations oops a high ranked tweedy bird. Why because politicians got a real big bag of money and already chose the JSF. I even wonder if Americans know the thing isn't stealth can only do 65% of all the tasks it Lockheed promised. No one cared It took so long to build this slow fat thing radar tech caught up with it. F-35 taking over the A-10's role in combat? There will be so many crying family members. an AK can take it down and it will stealth when it fly's slow and you can just SEE IT! Start using your brain. American companies don't for contracts right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_bribery_scandals This happened before. For what? Because you aren't world leaders with your F-22 since it kills it's pilots. ( Or a French fighter kills it ) after the Germans died that build your rockets and your planes?

  8. Had one of these fly right over my house. My god what a fucking sound!! I thought a missile was about to hit or something.
