The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is a fifth-generation, single-seat, twin-engine, all-weather stealth tactical fighter aircraft developed for the United States Air Force (USAF). The result of the USAF’s Advanced Tactical Fighter program, the aircraft was designed primarily as an air superiority fighter, but also has ground attack, electronic warfare, and signal intelligence capabilities. The prime contractor, Lockheed Martin, built most of the F-22’s airframe and weapons systems and did its final assembly, while Boeing provided the wings, aft fuselage, avionics integration, and training systems.

The USAF considers the F-22 critical to its tactical air power, and says that the aircraft is unmatched by any known or projected fighter. The Raptor’s combination of stealth, aerodynamic performance, and situational awareness gives the aircraft unprecedented air combat capabilities.

The high cost of the aircraft ( $150 million ), a lack of clear air-to-air missions due to delays in Russian and Chinese fighter programs, a ban on exports, and development of the more versatile F-35 led to the end of F-22 production. A final procurement tally of 187 operational production aircraft was established in 2009, and the last F-22 was delivered to the USAF in 2012.

  1. 太牛了,希望转让点技术给台湾,提升台湾空军的战斗力。

  2. If I was the president then I would only work on the jets that replace the harrier and the F-15 and F-16 but not the A-10 or the F-18s but I just hope that Trump gets raptor production starting again

  3. Although the F35 is way over budget, I've heard from pilots that it blows away any other airplane made by the USA. I've heard that it can take out F16' and F15's from over 100 miles away before they knew what hit them. I think President Trump is right to real in the costs, but I don't think we should throw away the baby with the bath water. JMVHO.

  4. super sonic.super- bombes .. guerre et bombes en iraq?f-22 moderne guerre petrole?en mashine au guerre -bravoooo?non!!pour tuer?nooooooo

  5. I love reading all the comments on here thinking they know anything about the F-22, after I have been working on them the last 10 years.

  6. I don't think the f_22 is an "extremely powerful" aircraft because if it was " extremely powerful" he will not be easily destroyed by the Dassault Rafale which cost 50 millions dollars less.

  7. I don't know but it seems like air shows lost their Mojo since the seventies and eighties. it feels like its safe. the only one that still got it though are the air shows in Florida with the blue angel ripping sun shade umbrellas out of the ground as they fly over the beach. hard to believe this is what came from barnstorming.

  8. Are there any plane in existence that you can grey out from just straight line acceleration? Just eye sucking speed?

  9. America should never had made the call to cancel production of this plane and make the shit f-35 instead
